how is the possibility very very high if it rarely happens?
    would you vaccinate your kid?

You didn't respond to my lightening question ;)
A situation does not need to happen often to still have the chances be too great, especially when it comes to a young child.

All it takes is a simple trip and fall, no matter how well you're trained and prepared it can happen.

Yes I would gladly vaccinate my son and have, that however is scientific benefits that greatly outweigh any possible risks.

--Again I am not saying what they are doing should be illegal..........

I think the poll should be, "How many babies do you think you could jump?"

I bet I could jump 12-15 or so.

And maybe 10 stacked vertically. :D

Knievel, May, 1972, Oxnard, California. 2:35 P.M., by WhataBurger's. Didn't get a lot of press. He creamed the kids, but came out unscathed, so missed AP.:D

This is where we would part ways, Grim.

    1. Kids didn't ask for this. Their parents did.

    2. Some people really are just that, well, tragically stupid.

    3. Forget themselves - some laws exist to penalize tragically stupid people who would hurt others.

having a change of tact? after realising that your position of defending this festival is not working out you are switching to questioning the OP's motives?

i would not put a baby in the rain because he might catch flu not because i am worried about lightening. lightening won't come to my mind
the point of vaccination is it can cause side effects.
how about sports maybe he will get hurt?

I'd have to agree with Grim. People do all sorts of stupid crap with their kids, I don't think this elevates to level of a crime. It's sad that people put their kids through this and feel like they have to go; but you'd think something like this would be taken care of with shame or ridicule or something.

But illegal? Criminalizing something like this and you'd have to include a wide array of parental stupidity in the mix as well. Gonna lock up parents for this? Take away the kids? Be real.

Really? In a lightning storm, as Grim posed, lightning wouldn't come to mind, huh? Hmmm...

Yeah, I guess I should reconsider putting my 4-month old in full-contact, MMA training.

    Sumbuddy be reallllllllly bored, methinks.

you can't catch the flu from rain. Influenza is a virus.

No, You changed tact from defending the actions of the people in the article to questioning the OP's motives for posting it. If you are going to start off defending these idiots have the courage to follow it through.

the action of these people although baseless and with no known positive effect has very little or no danger to the children. to assume that it does and these people do not care is wrong in my opinion.

lightining as a danger for the kid no. why don't you ask your mom or wife if they would think about lightning striking the kid.
how many kids have died in sport related accident. broken legs, hand an in rare occasions neck.
