Paypal just stole over 300.00 of our customer's money. (WARNING)

We have a successful PTC site running. We're making every payout. Paypal just stole over 300.00 of our customer's money in total. I was in the process of transfering out 128.00 (Thankfully we had already transfered the majority) to our bank to then payout via AlertPay which is what we pay our members with.
To make a long story short. They reversed the request. Pulled 128.00 back from our bank. Then froze our customer's money claiming suspicious activity. This is with over 600 transactions and no chargebacks ever. Every refund ever asked for we processed manually. They also now have the funds from 2 echecks totalling over 175.00 which were due to clear on May 28th. So in total paypal stole over 300.00 from our customers. Froze our account. On top of it. I went to paypal because you can still refund. I went to refund our customer his money they froze and instead of paying him back his money paypal has attempted to withdraw the funds from my bank instead of giving him back his money. What a bunch of fraudsters. I emailed paypal and told them it was theft and our legal dept would be looking at this. I also told them to close our account and we no longer wish to do business with them and to forward all funds to our bank account for which they replied with a standard generic email stating frozen. They want a bunch of company information now. I emailed them back saying that due to hindering the hundreds of dollars in transactions daily we no longer wish to use paypal as our payment processor and to close the account and send all funds (2 nd request to them)
They then email back stating they can't close the account because it's limited.
This morning I'm going to be going to our bank and freezing paypal from withdrawing any funds. Seems paypal are indeed thieves and scammers.

Very interesting. How do they get away with this.
Sure they aren't a bank and not governed by the rules of a bank but they're still committing theft.

Do not trust PAYPAL with your or your customer's money!

    Proof

Simple question: Are you a registered business, as you appear to be running a business of some form.

That still doesn't give them a right to "Steal" our customer's money. A simple email stating that we can no longer do business would have sufficed. PayPal = Scam.

Registered business. LTD in fact with share certs.
We're done with PayPal period. We've forwarded their theft to our lawyer.
I'm pretty sure he will get our account closed at that scam outfit and our bank account removed from their system.
Next thing they'll be trying to withdraw money from our account. I've heard the horror stories. Just look at www.PayPalSucks.com

Dude simply, if you don't like paypal don't use them, as you stated "Seems paypal are indeed thieves and scammers."

If you heard they were thieves wouldn't it be wise to not use them? It seems to me that you didn't care what others said yet you went ahead and did it, so now you shouldn't complain here because it won't do any good as none of us are lawyers or work with a law firm to help you out.
As you said, you should talk to your legal team and try to solve the problem with paypal, which I doubt you'll win as Paypal = Big Bully Company, and us the little people have no say.

So good luck trying to win the case, but I suggest you don't move forward as you'll just be wasting your time.

Proof they stole our customer's money is right there above plain as day. There's plenty to say but We'll be joining the class action instead. If anyone in future wishes to use paypal do so at your own risk. This is a warning that's all. We've already a better payment processor in place who actually values our business.

They still stole our money. That's theft.
They may not be governed as a bank but they are still being criminal with actions like theft.
Doesn't matter what kind of website we ran. It's not their money. It's our customer's money.
Our website is not illegal by any means.

Answer this - did you or did you not break their Terms of Service? A one word answer is all that is required;)

Spider-Man either way whether they changed their TOS or not, it's not their money. IT matters not. They're stealing funds that don't belong to them. I'm starting to think you work for PayPal. My account was active BEFORE they stated they do not like PTC sites.

If you do work for paypal then your employers are thieves.
I think the next year will define the fall of paypal if you look around. Either criminally or with all the lawsuits against them now.

Theft is illegal / against the law and PayPal has NO claim to our and our client's money.

    Theft is theft.

There's many suckup's on this forum when it comes to paypal - they don't understand how much hell new paypal users have to go through these days when they have had registered accounts for 2-3 years plus whom paypal won't touch

They need to stop acting like paypal are a good service.

Fortunately it was only $300. I know people who have lost $10,000's from Paypal and they didn't do anything wrong. You should switch to Alertpay. For some reason Paypal doesn't allow PTC sites and I don't know why.

I don't work for Paypal. I don't support Paypal. I don't promote Paypal. Nor do I condone Paypal - a good old credit card PSP such as HSBC or Protx will do me fine.

As with everything on the internet, if you don't abide by TOS, you lose your gains. Take this as a lesson learned, you'll never see the money again, that I assure you, sorry:(

I know paypal has already disallowed PTC sites a couple of months back. As far as I know aside from e-gold, only Alertpay still allows their service to be used by PTC sites.

    hi

As long as the money is not stolen or from illegal activities, and your account is limited by Paypal, you will get it back exactly after 180 days (6months)..

Happened to many of my friends and even myself.

    Regards
    DL

Did you use paypal only for payment for advertising, or did you use it for upgrade / payout to clickers ?

I think it is safe to use paypal as payment prosessor for advertising. Most people use paypal and it is fear to assume that it would bring more advertisers if one can pay for advertising with both paypal and alertpay.

Im still fighting 1 year on to get back $250 paypal stole from me. They have stopped replying and dont seem to care at all. I dont know what method of payment I should use for my sites, I am thinking moneybrokers. I would love to deal in e-gold but no one would want to go through all the trouble of buying e-gold to pay for my products.
