Please explain the meaning of Link Juice OR PR Juice. I read this term quite a few times on DP itself but couln't get the actual meaning of this
if you place a link somewhere, and its giving you power to go to the google top (or good search engines like yahoo or msn), then they call it linkjuice When you place a link somewhere, and its boosting your pagerank, they call it PR juice - i call it stupid thinking
a different explanation to look at PR and link juice is to compare PR with the bank account of a family father / business owner ... its VERY easy to have HIGH PR on the homepage only - its very easy to have high bank account balance but to earn a lot and to share a lot with all family members ( sub pages ) while remaining a high PR on the index page is more complex but offers many advantages. all children ( pages ) given link juice ( =$ ) results in all pages being stronger in SERPS in certain directories or even SEs. by cutting OFF almost all pages from the homepage - all PR remains mainly in the index page - a single page with few outbound links and even less to outer resources on other domains. thus its easy to rank that one page high but might be more difficult to rank ALL other pages HIGH. when you look however at a large site then you may have THOUSANDS of entry pages ( last month april 2008 I had 4624 Total Entry Pages ). thus having high ranking individual pages / high SERPS on possibly all pages will definitely result in higher traffic for same total quantity of work. how much link juice ( PR value ) forwarded from my blog or index page toward individual pages contributes is unknown in very detail - but after 11 years of web publishing this method still appears beneficial to me and I maintain that practice. link juice ( PR value forwarded to other pages / other sites of course needs to be paid - deducted from the index page. thus a site sharing PR among many pages / sub sections may rank lower on its domain- index but still get higher overall benefits / traffic on the total of all pages / entire site! how much you share PR value ( link juice ) with OTHER SITES from the domain index is up to each individual. I have ONLY dofolow links across the site and never plan anything else - but I link only to VALUE sites that offer a real benefit and helped me in my own life or web publishing endeavor. no link exchange just for fun, no outbound links from within important chapters, but outbound links only from my blog (PR5) and on my link page for recommended sites. on my blog even individual posts have PR and thus who ever is linked for his true value gets "link juice" to grow even stronger / more useful in his own endeavor of publishing or life. link juice on your site is like value - letting it flow toward others empowers others - letting it flow too much toward others weakens you to th epoint where you no longer can be of any valuable use to others. to find the right balance is the key to success! to create mountains of quality / unique content is the first - second and last priority to achieve success - all else comes during the short coffee breaks!
A recent term with the meaning of link power, PageRank, link votes etc. - that are obtained from backlinks. Example: I need to get some more link juice for my latest site.
Hi, Will backlinks from PR0 help? And what about a PR 9 website have a backlink from PR1. Will it affect the PR9 website? One last thing. Having a backlink on a PR0 page does not help even though the main page is PR10. Am I right? Thanks. JayT onlinedatingcode. com
1. Backlinks from any PR will help but PR0 is minimal 2. PR9 sites linking to a single PR1 site will have not effect. The site would need to have a large amount of links to PR1 sites to "dilute" it PR. 3. Yes, the backlink from a PR10 domain helps even though the actual page for the link is PR0. Backlink value is more associated with the top level domain than the individual pages. Good luck.
your questions are of PURELY hypothetical nature and thus a waste of time. you definitely have NO PR9 ( 8 or 7 ) site and those who have never worry about BL-PRs. as a newbie you should be happy about ANY organic BL. if you get 10'000+ ppl linking in a natural way to you then any BL helps ...!! IF you have a quality site than you'll get far more than 10k generic BLs - its just a matter of years. quality content attracts visitors - happy visitors create generic BLs and thus increase your PR.
Link juice is also known as vote. The more links pointing to your site, the more votes you can get. So meaning, link juice will be pass to your site that can increase your pr.
