It's getting pretty saturated with the same old arcades - i.e same scripts, game packs. Try make one which is unique - make your own design [or pay someone to make one for you]. I would recommend these companies PHPArcadeScript or GameScript for the script. Overall i would say there is money to be made depending on how you promote it and how good the site is!
There was one on sale here and sitepoint awhile back that made 7k a month. He was ranked first for "free games" on google. It's like anything else, once everyone knows about it, there is no money to be mase.
When you say make your own design is it ok to make your own design as in layout but make it run a game script already out there? Or do you mean pay somone to make a new game script aswell?
@lolage Either is fine - it's ok to make a design for a current script on sale as long as it's a unique template and looks different if you looking to throw alot of cash into a project then getting a coder/designer to make a custom script is even better
There is still some cash in Arcade websites. Just depends how you get it done. I have an ebook coming out this week or as soon as my designer gets the site done. I go over a lot of things. Far as a nice script right now for the money and has a ton of features. its actually being sold here on dp for $14.99 and has over 3k games..
