Appraisal request: Weightliftingforum.net

I just acquired this domain WeightLifting Forum

Its a new site so it doesn't have any backlinks.

But Weightlifting is a very high demand word, with tens of thousands of searches. Also the name has no hyphen in it and its on a respectable .net and easy to remember.

My question is, how much is the domain worth right now? And how much do you think it could be worth if lets say I develop it to a PR3 and a low to medium traffic site?

Sorry, but the appraisal tool we use most considers it Reg Fee fodder. If it is going to have resale value, it will be because you have developed the site. Good luck!

Thats sad to know. I would have thought it would be worth a lot of $$$ just for starters.

Im going to develop the site cause I think its worth probably more to keep for good than to sale it.

What do you guys think it would be worth if it was a PR3 with a a little bit of traffic?

I think your appraisal tool sucks. A stupid tool is not going to tell you how often a keyword is searched, how well it sounds, etc.

Yahoo gets over 40,000 searches a month for weightlifting keyword Google gets more than that probably.

As it is I say around $20-30 but if you develop it then who knows. If you can get enough traffic onto any website then you can sell it for a lot more. If you can get 10k+ unique a month you can sell it for a few thousand.

20 bucks, thats nuts. I almost paid that for registration for one year.

I don't see how it couldn't be worth a few hundred right off the bat.

Yeah but it contains a major keyword "WEightlifting" Which gets tens of thousands of searches a month. WEightlifting forum with .net seems like it could be very very memorable. I say its worth a few hundred and developed it could be a few thousand.

No need to get insulting. The answers you guys are giving are jokes. I spent almost 20 bucks on a domain to register and you are saying thats almost all its worth. That is nuts. You obviously haven't a clue how highly searched weighlifting is. The domain is very memorable too. This domain is gold IMO.

Well if someone offered me 3 or 400 I wouldn't take it cause I think this domain is worth more than that. So if I disagree, I can't be the only one.

You don't know what your saying. I paid 18 dollars just to register the thing for a year. You keep saying too many characters but its just 2 words. If you used any less characters, you couldn't describe what it is, a forum for weightlifting.

Plus the .com is parked so .net shouldn't lose much traffic to .com

Why are you getting defensive? You asked for an appraisal and I gave it.

The domain is long and .net does not fit this extension.

And why are you paying $18/year for registration, you are getting ripped off.
