You may wonder why I titled this thread that... Here is just an example... "CHANGE - For better, or for worse?" Well ladies and gents, we have to choose the lesser of 3 evils here...
So your complaint is that he wants to do a bunch of things that everyone should obviously want to do? Your point is what exactly? And your some of your comments are laughable. For example you said "Any more improvements and we'd have free college for everyone..." about improving our schools. First of all access to college is not the only way you can improve schooling. Second of all do you really think that our schools are so great that they can barely be improved upon? Give me a break. The US education system is an absolute failure.
Because the state runs it. War on poverty = failure War on drugs = failure War on terror = failure War on illiteracy = failure You can't solve these social problems with central planning. The Soviets proved that does not work. You must employ local market solutions to tackle these issues.
We spend almost 600 billion a year on grade schools. In my state schools are given huge grants, and do nothing with it, which is a local problem, not a global one, or national one, for that matter. How can you force people to work? How can you force people to stop, when something is in such great demand? How can you fight something that is willing to totally destroy itself as long as it hurts you? How can you force people to learn? Soviets were Idealists, Ron Paul is an Idealist, You are an idealist. These problems can only be solved within the individual.
