What is a realistic timeframe for a blog to make $500/month? is it better to buy an existing blog or just start one from scratch?
I am wondering this too. How long would you say the process takes, along with marketing the site and getting constant traffic, to make a decent amount weekly?
I believe it takes about 2 months to build the necessary backlinks and optimize for specific keywords... and then build readership and traffic. Ok what do you recommend for a beginner, I have heard wordpress and blogger thrown around a lot, is one better than the other the second is content, I am a nurse so I can write a lot about health related issues, but the thought of writing two or three times a day on a specific subject is daunting, what if I ran out of ideas? What is the best way to market the blog, I have heard that their is a market saturation when it comes to blogs, is it realistic for me to expect to make money when their are so many other blogs out their? Besides writing about health related issues people will also find your blog interesting if you write stories about experiences you have had at the hospital with patients and other medical staff. Sort of like a reality blog (if that makes any sense?)?
I think it also helps when blogs have memorable designs. I know that whenever I visit a blog, if it has a boring design theme that I have seen on 100 other blogs I won't recall what the name was or what it was about. However, whenever I see blogs with really creative and beautiful designs, I'll either bookmark them for design inspiration or end up remembering the site later on. Make sure to leave an impression on the traffic you do get so that they will become repeat visitors.

this really depends. it depends how much you invest in it. if its on its own domain, what promotional methods, what niche, how hard you work at it, etc..
