Infractions / Mods Issues

Since I have been a member I have received 3 infractions. One of them I deserved because I did bump a thread on purpose. However, the other two are complete bullshit. One of them is "Private" and says I put a thread in the wrong category which I did not do & I find it kind of strange that it is private?...but I let that one go. Now I see that I got one yesterday for posting in a thread for a free script. It says "Running Up Post Count/Post Has No Value". All I said in my post was "I'll take a copy ;)", but wtf else am I supposed to say when someone is offering something for free and I would like a copy of it. I'm not going to type some drawn out formal response when all I have to say is that. I wasn't trying to bump up my post count because my DP post count is meaningless. I love digital point forums, but its extremely annoying to get wrongful infractions. I am not expecting anything to be removed, changed, etc. All I want is for the mods to use their "power" the right way, and stop handing out infractions over issues that never even happened.

But some times the dude who opens the post says

Reply with "I am interested" etc.

    What about that????

I got an infraction for clicking my back button by mistake and inadvertantly bumping my thread. The infraction was instant, the post was removed instantly, so the thread did not get bumped. Work that one out. :)

Ahh, I didn't read that announcement since I never read any announcements lol. I think announcements of that level should be sent out to all members via mass pm. It would be a better way of getting things out there so people don't receive infractions for doing something they have done for months or years.

You only have one bumping infraction made for thread. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=7846169#post7846169 which was posted Apr 25th 2008, 8:20 am

Your bumping infraction was for the post

    Any offers?

    made May 20th 2008, 5:31 am

Remember all times we see are adjusted to our time zones.

Undoubtedly a mod was watching the spy and saw your post, "Any offers?." scroll by. Posts such as that are always subject to infractions.

Your private infraction was for the thread How to rank high for a keyword? which was posted in the Google category. The Google category is for THE search engine. This is for discussion about Google as a company, not for discussion of individual sites (SEO, PageRank for a site or "why a site ranks where it does" questions) or Google search results. As other's have mentioned if a post shows that it is private it just means the post or thread has been deleted.

As others have said, This infraction is covered in the latest announcement found http://forums.digitalpoint.com/announcement.php?f=24.

We all unknowingly violate rules and regulations at some time or another and many times out of ignorance. What adult can say they have never driven above the speed limit on some section of street or highway?
