From what i've read it seems like one of my site's have been 'smartpriced'. I went from making $.50 a click to about $.02 for 5 clicks. Is this smartpricing?? And what IS smartpricing anyways?!
It's google's way of saying "Hey... you are making to much money off of us! We need some of those profits back" Adsense is going downhill quickly. If you are in the US, I recommend signing up for YPN and making the switch whenever they accept you. The ads are not as relative and your click rate will go down more than 50%, but those earnings per click will add up to be higher than what you are getting with adsense.
smartpricing is a name some guy came up with on a theory that if someone gets a lot of clicks and they don't convert, google will lower the cpc on that account (not website). it is also first thing people think of what is happening to them if the cpc is lower then 50 cents, when it is not.
Old article, but still explains it. http://adsense.blogspot.com/2005/10/facts-about-smart-pricing.html
OK now that you know what SmartPricing is, here we got another explanation: SmartPricing is just another Google excuse to pay low $$$ to the countless AdSense Publishers
Bad for publishers, great for advertisers. And as we all know advertisers are 10 times more valued then endless numbers of publishers .
Smart pricing help advertisers to cheap cpc system for their campaigning , like if you have a little budget than also you can use adwords too . Publishers face that cost in bad manner . Smart pricing is best for affiliate promoters too , I have seen many promoters making too much money from using adwords too . smart pricing is what you want to pay per click .
I would love to be able to block ads paying less than 10 cent / click. Do you think Google will implement this features? I doubt it
