I just found a niche I think might be profitable to use google adsense on. There isn't a lot of competition for this niche, and the cost-per-click seems pretty low, but it would seem there is a LOT of traffic in this niche. I'm still a little green when it comes to picking niches, does this one sound good?
If it has alot of traffic and low price and you have something that you can sell or promote sounds like a good one
Sounds good to me. Even if the effective CPM is low due to low click rate and low cost per click, this won't always be the same in the future. And if you can get good traffic adsense is only one of the ways to make money. From the very little details you've given, I'd suggest you give it a try.
This is definately an ideal situation for establishing yourself in a niche market. Get in now while the competetion is low and a year or two from now you might be poised to make a nice profit.
If you can build a site that brings in loads of traffic, you'll make good money with it - although if you have a low CPC and CTR then Adsense should only be a part of that formula.
Sounds good to me. No need to worry about low paying clicks if you can easily get a lot of traffic. All you have to do is optimize your AdSense placement in order to improve your CTR I though niches with high demand and little competition don't exist anymore? Well... maybe I was wrong. Good luck!
Indeed, don't worry about low click rates really. Ideally speakin, if you are good at something then it is quite obvious that you will get traffic, effectively it is quite possible for you to optimize the adsense accordingly and get a better ctr so that your return is good in total. But traffic really depends on how good you are with the niche, and 'good' my friend is a relative word.
Something is wrong here... Big competition- more expensive CPC, bigger eCPM High click rate- The bigger the CTR the more you earn High Traffic- Good amount of SE traffic So I would change your formula into this:
Yea but getting high traffic (from SERPs) in a Big Competition niche is "suicide"*. *meaning - You won't be able to place in the SERPs.
If there is little Competition but high traffic it sounds like a great opportunity for affiliate sales. Try finding a company that pays high commission that will allow you to make money online.
I wasn't claiming it was a good formula, I was asking if these variables made for a good niche, hence the question mark at the end. I was asking out niche in particular. And how is it good if there is a lot of other sites competing? wouldn't that make it harder to generate traffic to your site?
