Its not fare guys I love Xp it needs Less resources and gives better performance But yes its funny Microsofts marketing strategy , and still i ddnt get why Microsoft revealed SP3
Xp is less resource hungry than Vista and from what I have seen Vista crashes a lot. So its not fear ;(
XP had come to be one of the best from Microsoft after win 98. I have been using vista for some time now, and never had any issues with it.. had good performance, no crashes. Have been using SAP, Cognos, Adobe Live, Photo shop and never faced any performance issues. Only thing I don't like about Vista is the annoying permission request popups. I am also a fan of Ubuntu, and never been with windows for long, But like what they have come up with vista
I migrated from ME to XP. After migrating I had not experienced frequent crashes. Havent bought Vista as Im running a 1 GHZ CPU with 256 RAM. XP is the better OS for average home user. I dont know why MS is doing this.
Vista vs. XP Vista Sucks http://searchia.drui.dk/sucks/fight.php?number1=Vista&number2=XP&Submit=Fight! Ubuntu vs. XP XP sucks http://searchia.drui.dk/sucks/fight.php?number1=XP&number2=Ubuntu&Submit=Fight! Ubuntu vs. Windows Windows Sucks http://searchia.drui.dk/sucks/fight.php?number1=Ubuntu&number2=Windows&Submit=Fight!
You can get to know Vista only when you use at least 1GB of RAM and 1.5 Ghz of CPU. More RAM and CPU is better. Xp family has extended support till 2009, After which they wont offer free or paid support.
This will better reveal what sucks ... Platform Stats Now compare these stats with what you posted and you'll get your answer. Windows rocks
I used to use windows 98 till recently when i switched to xp. Older windows are better in my opinion, except for windows 95 and 2000. Never tried vista and don't want to either from what i've heard of it.
The reason for these stats is, ppl still think Linux as a geek OS, used only by high end users/ programmers. But Linux has come a long way since then, but doesn't have the publicity and big ads/ announcements. For starters I suggest starting with Ubuntu, and I bet you will never turn to Windows. Ubuntu is miles a head of Windows Vista
Just search Yahoo stores, Amazon and other online stores, there are a lot of retailers selling off their Windows XP software inventory.
