Firstly let me tell you that I am totally a newbie and unaware of most of the things at Adwords.

I am actually intending to run a caimpange using adwords to promote a affiliate product from CJ.

So wanted to know how to start about??? Can I directly use the CJ affiliate url in the campainge. Or will I need to buy a domain redirecting to the CJ url???

Hey adwords masters, please do help me!!! Help appreciated!!!

Depends on the search engine (Google just changed their terms around last month). If you have the knowhow, then redirect it. All my old campaigns have the straight affiliate link in the campaign, but that is looked down upon now.

You shouldn't have a problem just putting the link directly in. The SE will tell you if it doesn't like what you're doing ;)

Just read the Term from the site which you want to promote, if they state that you're not allowed to use their domain name, so you could not use their domain name, you must bought a new domain. If they allowed you to use their domain, just use the domain and fill the target url with your affiliate link.

If you mean does Google Adwords allow you to have a url that is different to the one you are displaying then the answer is no.

So if you are using a affiliate type url where the domain is actually different to the one you are displaying in your ad, Google will just not allow it anymore.

    Hope that helps.

Yes this does help a lot. But then if you go to see then CJ will never give you a affiliate url which is similar to the site url. Its always some random affiliate url used to track your data.

So how to tackle with that now??? Buy a domain and redirect??? or just random redirect using a PHP file on any of your existing domain

I would get yourself a domain and bring people to your website.

    Then you have two choices.

    1) Either put together a page about the products (eg: a review) with a button that then sends people onto the site OR

    2) Offer them a free review or something like that in exchange for their email address. You can now start email marketing them to buy the product.

Generally email marketing is far more successful (if done right) as you have a few bites at the cherry.

If you go for that route, get yourself an autoresponder.

    Cheers

    Mike

    Thanks.

Yes a landing page is basically a page where you send visitors to when they click on your add. They "land" on that page.
