He gave a speech in San Diego today. A few hundred people showed up in the rain to hear him speak. I got to meet him afterwards and have him sign a copy of his new book! Needless to say, I'm a happy camper!
Relax bub, I'm sure one day you will get to go to prison and all of your admirers can meet you and get your autograph.
That's cool. I wonder if pingpong made it. Where did you get the book? It's practically sold out everywhere... I'm sure he did. It's Ron Paul. The genius behind this...
Having dreams about getting caught and sent to Gitmo again? /shakes head and wonders what's taking so long
Yep, he is just as kooky and delusional as always. Talking about things like liberty, small government, non-interventionism, and true conservatism. Man, what a kook, I sure hope it doesn't catch on. Next thing you know, you will have a bunch of freedom lovers running around, not trying to tell you what to do.
@ WDHT - You can read a bunch of Paul stuff at LewRockwell.com and Mises.org if you like what he's written. http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/ Right hand column, under the images. Video/audio, then articles. http://www.mises.org/articles.aspx?AuthorId=392
They had copies available for purchase there. I had to run to the ATM to grab some cash after the speech, by the time I got back the line to meet Dr. Paul was huge. I think just about everyone that showed up to hear him speak was in the line. We all got a chance to meet him, shake his hand and ask him a question or two if we wanted.
I wouldn't worry about that too much. If I recall, the vast majority of his supporters were: troofers, anti-semites, disillusioned liberals, neo nazis, anarchists and other malcontents. Those groups, combined, make up about 5% of the US population. About the same percentage he polled at nationally on a good day.
That's really cool. I heard he pulled around 14% in Oregon and 7% in Kentucky with almost no campaigning. That after the 5% in WV and 13% in Nebraska.
Ok, well believe what you want. I certainly did not see that in the crowd that showed up to hear Dr. Paul speak. Looked like a good cross section of the population here in San Diego.
He's pulled 1.1 million votes so far. Some folks like to name call and harass his supporters, but the reality is, as Paul may have told you in SD, that the response was greater than he imagined. A very, very successful campaign that is not over yet.
Yes, he did mention that a couple of times. I agree that it was a successful campaign. The message is out there and the genie can't be put back in the bottle. When I was standing in line to see Dr. Paul I got a chance to talk to the guy in front of me. He is an active duty Marine that has served one tour in Iraq and is about to serve his second tour. He heard about Ron Paul while he was serving in Iraq on the first tour. From what he said, a lot of Marines support Dr. Paul and according to him you will see Ron Paul bumper stickers all over the place on base.
webdev your so lucky, i was about to go then it starts to drizzle and the next thing u know i came down with the flu . I can outlast anyone in 110 degree heat but my condition doesnt allow me to be well in the cold. Lucky u man, i had planned for this day for weeks. Good to see our marines are rooting for teh only candidate that really cares for their safety When i went to the first rally in san diego i didnt see one racist or antisemite, on the contrary, it was a great mixture of races and cultures, the one thing they had in common was the common sense to know who really cares about the american people. Look at the line at the signing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_UYOypaRm0 wow guys i think i see gtech in that line
It was a big line and I was at the very end. No big deal though, it was just great to be there. Sorry you could not be there.
Thanks man, at least i can get the book. I need something good to read. Last time i was reading a guide about how to blink into nothingness, hey stox can you show me the formula for that?
I hope it is good, I have not read it yet. I'm saving if for a long flight I have comming up. I want to dig into it right away, almost like when you were a kid and could not wait to open up a Christmas present.
Nah, just said thanks. Pretty much every question I can think of someone has already asked him. Now don't go bringing up a great question that I could have asked, hehe
