i'm really not familiar with vb databases, but if you can access it, i'll bet you can locate yourself in there and change your password.

Register again. Make an normal account. I am sure if you add yourself to the admin permission section in the config.php your new account will become an admin.

Then use that admin to change your password for the old account. I am sure that would work.

Be sure to set the first admin so it's not a superuser or whatever makes it so they can not be deleted/changed in the ACP, of you'll need to edit the config file more then once ;)

    Okay,

First, I'm sure you are familiar to PHPMyAdmin. Go On that select your vBulletin Database. On the left side, there should be a column of tabled search for "vb_user". Click it. Now you should see rows and lists of username userid and what not. Put a check by "userid", "Username" & "Password". After you have selected those three check-boxes. Scroll down until you see "adminoptions". By it there should be something saying "With Selected: " Click the first one which is browse. Now you should see 3 columns and plenty of rows. Look for the one that has your user name information. Now I believe the first one should be yours, but just in case look at the username, if the row is correct. Press the check box by it. Now, scroll down until you see "With Selected: ", click the first one which is a pencil. Now you should come to an interface that has 5 columns and several rows. Look on the 6th row, and the last column. It's value and it's a weird text. For Example, fjdk937dnnfjd93fjcdngj. It's weird don't worry about it, Now go 7thspace.com/webmaster_tools/online_md5_encoder.html
In the box, type in a desired password, don't use the original one that you use frequently. After you are done click the submit button, it should bring a new text box under with the desired value that you want. Copy the hash(the text that you just got), paste it in the password value(in PHPMyAdmin). Then scroll down and click go.
Go to your forums and log-in with the password you wrote on the site, not the hash that you got from the site, the password that you wanted to set.

    Good Luck!

I tried your way Alecoalec I tried this before by putting the value of password of my new id to my admin through phpmyadmin but didn't work and I found it why this didn't work...because I created another id with same pass and values were different....

But what I did to manage forum is I made my new id settings matching with admin..... that making usergroupid '6' and options value
Its allowing me to delete topics atleast ( which I have to do urgent) ...but didn't gave me full admin control still...:(

Have you got the powers to manage users in the ACP?

Also try contacting vBulletin using the community forums.

Let's see, the information is still relevant, I don't see my method here, and if you're such a genius with the vb avatar and all please explain how you reset your password when the board is closed, you have no access because you've been hacked, or you're running localhost without email in place. Oh wait, the expert pointed out password login.php?do=lostpw

    lol indeed.
