Suggestions : Private message for changes !

  1. #1
    I think a PM should be sent to all members regarding changes (e.g. rules etc.). This will make all members aware about changes.

    What do you think ?

    The forum has been around since 2004. I suspect we have alot of "inactive" members who might consider such a message to be spam.

    Those who are active can read the updates when they get here. If they fail to, at worst they will get one infraction. One doesn't matter much, now does it?

    spammer will hardly care...but i am also agree with you when there is something related to change of rules and regulation all members should be aware of that in any ways ....but sending pm to all members is not a good idea i guess....making the thread sticky is quite enough to let all people know....

    By PM , every member will know quickly about changes.

    Sticky threads are important. I am not saying that there should not be sticky threads. It's normal that all members do not pay attention on sticky frequently :) By PM they will have to view ;)

    how do you figure that?
    this forum has many many inactive members, members whose email addresses may not exist any more. lets send out a pm to all members and have maybe 10,000 of them kicked back.

    the stickies are there for a reason, if people don't read them, then they learn the hard way.

    I think knowledge about changes is important to active members more than inactive members :)

    its a nice idea to inform the members about the new rules by sending them a pm.. it will be a lil difficult to look on for new rules and stickies every time...

    yes, knowing is a good thing.
    so read the stickies as there will be no mass mailing to the members.
