This is a repost. Prize amount is now $300 Just to be clear, I am posting this on behalf of my client. I've created a few designs for him but they weren't what he was after, so he asked me to post this contest on his behalf. There isn't any coding neccessary - just a PSD of the homepage. Attached below is the latest example I created for him to give you an idea of the sort of things he wants on the homepage - and below it is his feedback from this design. Overview of website: Website will be for pub owners to register their pub and then input scores for the teams that play at their pub quiz each week. On the front page add somewhere that has a summary of the top ten teams in the UK. Ideally on the homepage we'd like a graphic of a map of the UK. The design should have a white background. My client likes these colours: black, orange, and blue, BUT this isn't essential. Be creative. If you use boxes make them rounded. Overall site must be bright and colourful. My client likes these two sites: http://www.redtoothpoker.com/ & http://www.pokerinthepub.com/ This is what he said "Take a look at www.redtoothpoker.com - I like the header, the layout and the way they have used the colour a cross between this and the poker in the pub site would be pretty good, hope this helps." And this is his response: "I like it better but it is still not what I want. I want the header to really jump out with colour site needs a little bit of flash to catch the eye* I like the header on Redtooth Pokers site, but I also like the little flash banner underneath, it makes the site stand out, Poker in the pub have done the same thing with the recruitment box on their front page, it makes the whole page stand out." * (you don't need to do any flash). If you're interested, please post your design, or let me know that you will be creating a design Thank you
Is anyone interested in the contest? If you're not, would you mind giving feedback on why not so maybe I can make the contest better for you? Thanks
few questions! 1. Does he wants a web 2.0 template? 2. what colors he prefer? 3. would it be ok if i use the same layout as the sample pic has?
Josh, I look forward to seeing your entry Spyece: 1. Take a look at http://www.redtoothpoker.com/ & http://www.pokerinthepub.com/ - those are two sites that he likes the look of. It would be nice to be Web 2.0 but if you can make it look like a mixture of those two sites that'd be great. 2. "My client likes these colours: black, orange, and blue, BUT this isn't essential. Be creative." 3. You can use the same layout if you like or you can try something different. As long as it's something that stands out when you see it. Thanks
Preview: http://www.imgpig.com/uploads/66410_preview.jpg That's something I've just started. There's not much done but I felt like posting it anyway. The two orange blocks will be the login area and the top 10 chart. Although, I might actually put the login part up in the banner. If I do, then I'll replace the current designated login area with news. Edit: Slight update, still pretty basic I know. I used the same UK map as you as it's the best one available. http://www.imgpig.com/uploads/59950_preview.jpg
Great Josh, would like to see the finished product To everyone else : Have also had a design via PM but with a black background - it needs to be a white background
Here's my try...watermarked for my protection... hehe. adjustments are okay At the navigation on the top, that is flash/hover over buttons, that the submenu appears under the main topic/choice. whatever you get what i mean haha. Also there are "picture/flash" boxes for "pictures and flash" haha. Lastly, a spot for an ad. Of course, less text, more space for ads. so...theres my try
