I think that our government should have already stepped in and done something. Poor people can't afford to even have cars now. It takes over half your monthly income just for car insurance and gas! I couldn't imagine having a huge car payment on top of that!

The UK Government made £26 billion in fuel duty last year, as well as pissing away £20 billion on an NHS computer system that still doesn't work. This suggests to me they could easily afford to freeze fuel duty - even cut duty by 15 or 20 pence per litre. But will they? Will they shite.
A fuel blockade might be just what we need to finish this Government and stir their replacement into action.

mommy is high in the NHS :) so the house gets free fuel in a fuel crisis how ever if theres is not crisis we pay as normal :( last time we got a card like a CC and you get told what petrol stations to go to in order to get the free fuel with the card, but the last crisis was just a small strike so it was every station. I would think in a full scale crisis the stations would be less.

$15 a gallon will not happen for many many years. One of two things will happen. Gas will hit about $4 to $5 this summer. Whats driving up the price is not a shortage of supply there is as much supply today as there was 2 years ago. Our reserves are still the same as they always have been about 30 days if the USA was cut from the world. What is causing prices to go is actually simple. It is much much easier for every day people like you and me to invest money into the stock market. With each access people hear oh oil is going up like crazy! so what do people do they invest more money into it. Pushing up the price this will keep going on until investors back off and find a different gold mind to dig in.
