Hello, Ive heard the common wisdom is to start a blog around a single topic--a single niche topic if possible--and then seo it. But what if you'd like to create a blog about random things such as a trivia blog or crazy fact blog (with real posts, not spam)? Would google see the lack of unified theme and assume that this is a spam blog? Would it be possible for such a blog to rank for many unrelated keywords/phrases?
Yes, it's possible to do what your doing. You don't "have" to have one solid subject on your blog or website. Make sure you provide rich quality content and build the proper backlinks to each web page; meaning the backlinks to the web page should be relevant to the content displayed on it.
it depends to you. if you want a general blog topic make sure that your content is quality. To be able to rank higher in serp also make sure that other topic is relevant to one another even if they are different for example my blog is about designer handbag my keyword would be designer handbag but my articles are not purely about designer handbag i can also write article about prada handbag and other branded handbag. unlike if i choose a blog that talks about prada blogs my articles are purely for prada handbag no other brand.
