where I live , and its probably true in much of Florida renting is cheaper then owning, prices still have a substantial amount to fall until it will cheaper to own

also if you live by the coast I think you have to insure with citizens insurance because private insurance won't cover flood damage if you live some where like on an small island

From what I hear, citizen's insurance doesn't have the reserves to cover a big hurricane let alone a couple in one year, I imagine the reserves have been looted by now with all the budgets being short

So if we get hit with a hurricane or 3 this year it will be interesting to see what happens. If citizens insurance goes tits up and can't pay out or write policies, from what I understand, people will not be able to get ANY mortgage on waterfront properties. They don't give mortgages on places that aren't insured for floods , if they are in flood zones. and All the coasts of Florida are flood zones.

From what i read in this thread,
Is insurance worth it with your money ?
Because i see a lot of criteria from the insurance company, so this company trying to robe you without notice, slow but sure.
Insurance want to make a lot of profit for green book that will be given to investor.

Car insurance : age, where you live, how many person who will drive, .....
Home insurance : just 2nd flood, where you live, .....
Medical health : age, smooking?, Where do you work ? (i have too, did you notice that if we get older, the montly cost will be higher too? all insurance just say it's ok, your investment can save you from this cost)

I think you're live with too much cost.
    Ones again i question ?
Is that worth with money you pay it ?

Prices still have a long ways to go down. Interesting article in Forbes, "How Low Will Real Estate Go?" Based on the median income to price, homes values are about 30-40% overpriced.

I agree, Real Estate can be a gamble. Irresponsible lending played a big factor in what we are seeing now, but the government needs to stay out of it. Lenders and borrowers need to learn a lesson. The immediate results may not be pleasant but in the long term, free markets often make better decisions then any single person or government.

Well, it's kinda sad. It goes to show that members of Congress don't have a clue about the economy.

this thread was not made to make fun of america but more to bring out the preventable reality of the ppl living there. its just sad that they have the best of most things and are taking it for granted and shooting themselves in the foot

im pro america for many things...but the ppl just have to realize the reality and keep thinking they will be the best at everything.

for example, in the US, many americans are ANTI CHINESE CARS and automatically assume that they are shit and that US cars are amazing....japanese/korean cars have already proved their worth and soon will chinese cars, and if these US companies stop relying on the fact tht they are great no matter what they do and no chinese sweatshop cud ever test their products is the wrong mentality

    siigh

I don't want to get into one of these again. But I might as well one more time, what the hell.

I'm American. I think I have a little bit more knowledge about my people and how they are. I was born and raised here in Louisiana. You say "most" Americans are ignorant? Have you met "most" Americans? That makes you sound ignorant. A big problem with non-Americans and what makes you guys look ignorant *to me* is that they(and you) alwaysssss judge our whole country and "most" of our people just by something you see on the news. For example, this lady you posted about. Yeah, she's bad with money. Just like there's people bad with money in canada.

It's almost like you see something on the news about America and you run to get online to post a poll or a thread to start flappin your jaws about it. If Iran was the world power/most popular country, everyone would find things to talk about them. It's the sad truth.

I'm sorry but I just get tired of so many threads about us. when you talk about American people, even if it's "most", you are talking about me. Shut it up already. This also makes me wonder, with all the focus on us, how do you know about anything that's going on inside your own country? :s

Well like ya said Korean and Japanese cars have already proven their worth. Some people like to try the new thing out so I'm sure some Americans are excited to get their hands on a Chinese car. Even if a company with a history of reliability made a new model or overhauled a model I still wouldn't want to buy the first or second year.

Oh yeah. cars. Personally, I think Japanese cars are great. Very good cars. But I think Chinese cars suck. My opinion.

Sweet! Next time I need to bribe a congress critter, I know where to start.

I'll start by offering her a hot cup of coffee for her vote. :D
