Hello guys. Today i was out with my school looking at some old windmill thatwas from the 1500's next to this was a lake. when we came there we found a duckling at the side al alone but we didint do anyting just let it be. about 10 minutes later another person in the group took up the duckling and trashed it into the water with force (yes hes a retard) so that the duckling hurt it's leg and cant walk properly. after another 1H30 we noticed the hurt duckling still on the side of the water, this time on it's back and could not stand, and no duckmother around to take care of it. So i decided to take the duck with me home. here bellow are some pictures. The duck still cant walk properly but is eating well from the food i give him so i hope in a few weeks it will do a full recovery. http://www.imagefrog.net/show.php/74_CIMG1048.JPG http://www.imagefrog.net/show.php/73_CIMG1046.JPG http://www.imagefrog.net/show.php/72_CIMG1045.JPG http://www.imagefrog.net/show.php/76_CIMG1059.JPG http://www.imagefrog.net/show.php/75_CIMG1051.JPG
People who hurt animals are fkd up. I hope you report that idiot to whatever animal protection society you've got over there in Sweden. Ducks rock. Nice one for taking care of it
Fine looking duckling. As Kerosene rightly says you should avoid messing too much with nature. While it's possible that a duck with a bad leg might not be able to cope in the wild it's equally possible that it might become too dependent on you. A difficult balancing act.
awww i want that duck!!!!! That duck looks ****** kool!!!! lol We found a blackbird the other day lol
Great thing you did. However, make sure you can keep it as a pet or find a zoo or something to give it too. Once a bird of any kind is taken from the wild, it has a hard time adapting to the wild again. Often times there are local wilflife centers who can assist you. Nice pictures and I hope it recovers nicely.
Yup agree such cruel person should be reported. Why would anyone do such a thing! Nice of you to take care of this one izlik. It looks so adorable in the picture! I wish it to get well soon.
--- Don't give the duck a name. It's a wild animal. Once you name an animal, it becomes a pet. Take the duck to a vet - they'll probably fix it up for free if you explain the situation. Hopefully they'll put you in touch with an organization than can take care of it properly until it's ready to be released into the wild.
This is the coolest thing to ever grace DP - even cooler than yours truly, the "infamous menace" super hero
Do they have some sort of RSPCA in Sweden? You should have taken it to the vet really. Cool duckling though!
That was nice of you to help that duck. Since he is so young he might think you are his mommy and follow you everywhere, even when he gets older. I have known many people who have had ducks as pets, though once they are tame, you can probably never release him in wild. Good luck.
