How much is hosting charges?

Hi Friends,

I m going to start a site in India about travel. I want to know from you, what should be the web hosting charges for my site. I have not any idea about web hosting packages. Can anybody let me know the genuine charges of web hosting with the package.

I can purchase web hosting package from here, if i found suitable for my site.

Well, It all depends. If you buy from a Overseller then definately you can get for CHEAP and if you get hosting on a non-oversold GOOD server then the hosting will be costly.

 

Well if your just going to start a basic website, you really don't need a very big plan, Even my Free plan (400mb storage, 4000mb bandwidth) should be enough for you

Are you sure you need 1 GB web space for a single site?

I have sites with 100000 pages and they hardly take 200 MB space.

(Images etc may need a lot more space).

Usually hosts make packages in the ratios like 1:10 or 1:20 (disk space:bandwidth).

If you buy a plan with 1 GB disk space, you will end up with bandwidth of 10 GB or so.......unless the host gives you a customized plan.

For a SMALL site you should not pay more than Rs. 1000 - 2000 a year. Better find a host near your area , Alexa Kari.

It would be wise to start small and then expand as needed. If some hosts offer free web hosting, make sure your not at the bottom of the totem pole for support. Also, its more than likely that you will have ads in your control panel too.
