I had AVG 7.5 and than replaced it to quickheal. I want to know from you guys what you say about AVG ? Is it v. much efficient in removing viruses and protecting your PC or Quickheal is better ? Many say quick heal is better . What do you say about it because i am going to get a licensed version of it soon. AVG or Quick heal. Also what abt latest AVG 8.0 ?
The problem with AVG i feel is that it doesnt detect all viruses. while i suppose quickheal does. I dont claim to have much exp. with quickheal but surely AVG 7.5 doesnt detect all virus in my PC.
AVG 8.0 ain't bad. I don't normally get viruses so it hasn't detected anything but cookies from sites.
AVG is not very good to be honest. You are much better off with Avast, which is by far the best free AV and is better than a substantial amount of paid ones too.
AVG is a very good antivirus. You must remember that there is no ultimate antivirus - no application will detect all possible viruses, that's impossible (though AVG and NOD32 tends to detect the most of them). Moreover, some antivirues will detect also "false viruses" - i.e. something that is not a virus. I recommend you highly not to only use antivirus but to combine it with a good firewall such as Comodo. Then you'll be much safer. One more tip, use safe internet browser (Opera is currently the safest).
Well I prefer it over Norton anytime. I also use CCleaner in addition to using AVG. I also know some people also use PCcillion DR(or something like that)
As far as my experience say, AVG 7.5 was not good enough because I had to switch over to NOD32 for few days but when I got AVG 8.0, I got satisfied by its service. Because it removed all viruses which I had in my PC. So its a good. and apart all this crap, its better to keep changing antiviruses among the top ones because I believe everyone has its own quality.
I don't like AVG anymore It does n't detects many virus and trojans I have started using avast since yesterday will post my review for avast in few days
I like AVG have been using it for years with no problems, but it seems to be getting a little bloated, I have not switched over to 8.0 yet but I might be looking for a new anti virus software soon. I will have to look at Quickheal, avast, and the others.
AVG (the free edition at least) doesn't have a good reputation in the IT world... to get a good anti-virus you are best paying for it - the same for a firewall too...
When I got my PC , I used Panda as Antivirus but later on I switched over to AVG and it did protect my PC from virus but eventually 7.5 was not able to detect many virus that's why I switched over to AVG 8 . Since the last month I did not get any complaints of virus in my PC but yes some cookies get treated as threat.
Never used quickheal before, but AVG 8.0 is alredy very good for me to consider other antivirus softwares.
