Hmm your question is write , but I think activity is the best option , people visit here for fast trade and queries , I have very warm feeling with dp because it is the forum from where i have earned my first ever online income and now its growing and growing day by day . so i cant leave dp for anything .
I am here because of quality members and all activity. If you already had it, then you don't need to ask anyone go to your forum. People will go like ants finds sweet.
Oh yeah, I also think it'd be a good idea to have an option for users to delete their accounts if they get tired of the forum. I wish they had that around here, just in case anyone wanted to it'd be nice. :]
I've heard this alot. People say that the reason as to why Digital Point doesnt have the delete my account fuction because it would only decrease the "Members: 167,779, Active Members: 52,772 " stats on the forum.
I don't think so, take for eg I have 9500 posts and I request my account to be deleted, what happen to all the threads I have started and all my posts? Deleting my account will involve deleting the posts, you will be left with a lot of incomplete threads.
How can you say it's better than DP when it's just starting out..? the reason I like DP is the amount of active users posting, a starting up forum doesn't have that.
That point keeps bringing brought up...Very good point. However, how do you expect the admin to get members if its a new forum and they are starting out if no one wants to join. Thats just kinda blowing the forum off and not giving it a chance at all to bloom.
The threads can be deleted as well. Deleting an account should enable it delete the posts, threads and PMs.
You sick kid. Some thread has very useful information. If I have such forum like DP, i won't delete any good thread.
Ok...Well...I still think that if a user wishes to be deleted, his contribution to the forum should be deleted as well if he wishes. He made the threads/posts, it should be up to the user. P.S. Im far from being a kid or sick
The issue is in many threads what you post is only a portion of the thread, deleting your posts will disrupt the readability of the thread. This will not be fair to the rest of the forum members.
I would give the new forum a chance, why not? Diversity is good. But the new forum will have a tough time going against DP.
Just starting a forum is tough...Keeping the interests of the members and getting members period is a challenge.
