Google webmaster tools and inbound links

    Hello,

    You know how we usually use yahoo siteexplorer to check inbound links because google only shows a limited and misleading set?

    Well, if you log into google webmaster tools and export the full list of inbound links, isnt this the full list of backlinks to the site? (your site only)

    i did this and it showed 100,000 separate backlinks vs. the measly 800 showed by a regular google backlink search to the domain...

    am i misunderstanding this list?

    Yes, this is the list of all currently registered backlinks to your website, but the data is always a little old so it's not a list thats updated daily but every few weeks. The "link:" advanced search operator in Google just gives you a sample of the backlinks.

    i always thought google was very secretive with this data and i was surprised to see such a full list so freely available in the webmaster tools :cool:

    Google dont want to make SEO that Easy thats way Google back link is not showing proper recored of back link

    The data is private, you need to verifty you own the site to view it. :cool:
