Hello, Today I got my first payment through Google checkout @ Lola directory It works a bit different than paypal because you need to confirm the payment. Other than that it is quite smooth.
Do you have an available mod for that, or is it something you did yourself? Do you need a SSL certificate too? Congrats by the way
Congrats man, btw your banner is sponsored on my blog also. I know it feels great when you receive your 1st payment.
Its very easy to integrate Google checkout hope this link helps http://checkout.google.com/support/sell/bin/answer.py?answer=42903 or better still this tutorial on how to integrate the code to any script. http://code.google.com/apis/checkout/
thanks all. Yes it is very easy to integrate Google checkout The problem is that you can only get money using the currency in the country you live in. For example I live in the UK so I can only accept English pounds...
And seeing that the pound is about one of the weakest currencies about at the moment it isn't a viable alternative to paypal.
Congats on your first client. Now you need to get more sales, without links. If you can make sales easily via telephone, then you will know you are good. Good luck
Well, to do this requires a fairly large on-target database of clients, so get that first. Once you have your database eg 1000 genuine paying clients - wait until their listings expire, and fire of an email letting them know their listing has expired. Watch out for the 'Read Emails' in Outlook email, and if they haven't been ignored or deleted, follow each one up with a phone call. This is really for experienced sales people, and there's quite a lot to it, but the number one thing is you really need to feel comfortable doing this type of sales or it won't work that well. This is about organisation as well as sales skill. This is NOT easy. There are many good books on Sales, one good one is "Successful Telephone Selling - in a week by Patrick Forsyth UK £6.99. should be available even now, although the book is a few years old (2004 last published). I have the book and it's pretty informative actually. It will tell you what to do basically, but doing it is another thing isn't it....
nice directory, congrats. I might give the google checkout payment method a try some time but I think paypal is till the main one.
