Im thinking of a small article about this subject. I need some real arguments from people who have been using adsense for a while whether it is true or not true. hypothesis: 1. Google deliberately makes your CPC(=general revenue) lower when you add more sites\channels. 2. Google deliberately makes your CPC(=general revenue) lower when you bring more traffic (without considering its quality). Maybe it is a complete BS, but I want to see some strong proof. Ideas?
Hi, I'd like to be the first to talk about the 2nd one. My earnings were quite well. I managed to pay someone for 100 stumbles to a URL, which brought massive amounts of StumbleUpon traffic to my site. I still ended up getting the same amount of clicks than I normally would, but my earnings were a lot lower than I would have expected. Therefore I believe the second one to be correct.
In your situation I think the nature of traffic was abnormal and aparently its quality was low. We could get perfect experimental environment if the traffic stays natural (SE visitors), but increase (after PR update for example). And let me make it right - #1 and #2 are NOT exclusionary.
I am growing sites slowly but surely however the Adsense revenue never seems to go up. I'm sure the quality is good, not sure what's going on.. Eric
Its funny that you mention this. I was just polishing up an article to submit for linkbait, and I was checking out the Ads Google put on the page. They looked good, they were related to investment, currency, and energy. I put the link on a social bookmarking site and it made it to the front page, bringing in about 200 visits / hr, and suddenly the ads are total junk. Coffee. Elections opinion. Comedy. Oh well, the point of this kind of traffic is just the links & having some fun with the debate
