    Hi everyone,
I am sure many of you are well known on this topic however I am new to it. For googles PR how does it work in terms of submitting your link.
If you submit your link and get it on PR 7's or high page ranked sites such as this it helps your page rank. However if you submit to a 0 PR or 1PR something low does it hurt you or still help but just not as much?
    Thanks
    Sean Supplee

PR rankings algorithms are a closely guarded secret by Google. However, higher PR rankings will normally pass more juice. Lower PR will still be a link to your site but will not pass any PR juice. It does not hurt your site. Links are also based off other factors only known to Google.

There are times, for whatever reason, that what you think is a solid PR7 link may be not counted by Google and not pass any PR. Best thing to do is concentrate on building solid back links that can benefit you with traffic and not worry so much about PR.

From what i understand, it works like a voting system. links on pr1+ sites will cast a positive vote that is contributed to the PR you are assigned. sites with pr0 or no pr may not cast a vote at all. however, having links on these sites won't negatively affect your pr (you can't have "negative" votes). relevancy of the sites that contain your links is also a factor google uses.

In few words, YES you are totally correct... it's just a vote and as much the PR of the voting site is higher the more benefits it will pass to your site.

Nothing that happens outside your site can hurt you. If backlinks from low PR sites hurt a site, then people will start to build backlinks from low PR pages for their competitors in order to hurt them.

Backlinks from low PR pages will never hurt any site.
