The AFF "quality leads" provision in the TOS seems to defeat the meaning of getting paid on a CPA or per lead basis. They seem to use this stipulation as a way to deny payment to affiliates... With any lead program, some of your leads will be inactive and quality isn't guaranteed. Short of anti-fraud measures, it seems crazy to pay on a CPA basis and then deny payment retroactively due to such traffic quality issues.

I'd just like to point out that the person who started this thread did so with the sole purpose of shilling their crappy Googlepages spam site. Don't bother looking at it, its a joke.

Wow, where do i begin? Ok
i'll give you as much detail as possible so you get a good picture.
I signed up with adult friend finder as a affiliate to send them traffic and members. At this stage we was still building on our traffic which we were ranked at 179,000 in Alexa...
now we rank at 151,000 in Alexa..

When we first signed up to the AFF network of sites, things were slow but good as we fine tuned things on our site. I logged into my AFF account everyday in the morning to see how it was performing.
As i said it started slow then it began to get better and better..in the space of 1 and half or 2 months i had mad $350+ in our account.
i had sent them about 140+ people that had signed up through their pay per click into my ATL.COM, which belongs to them, and 160+ in my Adultfriendfinder.com account.:D

They give you a minimum check amount you can select to have your money sent to you when you sign up, i think it was $100. I increased this to $400 as i had reached the $100 minimum payout too quickly and did not want to just get a $100 and pay fees on transfer for just $100 from my bank.

I logged in my account one day and to my surprise my money had changed from $350-400 into just $190 for my AFF account and $20 for my ATL.com account...What the FUCK happened?

I thought it must be a systems glitch as i saw a note that they were having a systems maintenance due.
I searched through my email account and found a message from them which began our conversation..

At this stage im thinking, Wow what sneaky, cheating, thieves.. that portray themselves to be a honest company. claiming to be giving away bonuses of money away on their website !!

so is it a pay per click or do i get paid only when people sign up?..OK, if i get paid when people sign up...your saying i can only actually get paid if s sign up decides to pay on your site?
So you claim its a pay per click system but a person only really gets paid if a sign up decides to pay on your AFF site. That's not Pay Per Click, That's even pay per-sign up..:(

I did a Google search to find this forum and see what was going on
I did send back anything after this.
you could send them a million uniques and if those members cam back to sign up with them...i know as a fact you would not see a cent/penny from them.
they are crooks in my eyes and dodgy people

Sorry I think your claim is ridiculous. They have every right to switch you over to a % payout affiliate if your traffic isn't bringing them sales. In the end sales are all that matters. They aren't going to pay you for traffic that under-performs. Why go the PPC route unless you yourself think your traffic isn't very targeted?

The truth is you are looking for easy money by sending traffic that doesn't convert and hoping to get paid per click. That's ridiculous. I personally think the whole idea of pay per click affiliate programs is stupid. Think about it - AFF is going to switch anyone over who isn't sending traffic that converts to a % program. And if your traffic converts ... you'll make more money as a % affiliate anyway. So there's really no point in signing up with their PPC thing int he first place - because you will either get converted if your traffic sucks, or you'll actually be making less money if your traffic is good.

That's what i was thinking when they cheated me and sent me some email to inform me as to why they cheated me in such a nice way!

Its like they offer one thing ..then in their TOS they contradict what they offer or make it super hard or impossible for you to actually make what they "claim" to offer.

    1. No one said sales does not matter!! who would say anything that dumb? 2. its not advertised as Pay Per Sale, its Advertised as PAY PER CLICK!

1.Not going to pay me for traffic that under-performs?? are you crazy? we did not do a links exchange deals, zibblu. I put their link on my site because they said they were going to PAY PER CLICK...it turned out to be per-sign up, then it turned out to be per-sale!
    2. Why go the PPC Route you ask unless i think my traffic is not targeted?
2.2. hehe..ok the reason why I/we went the PPC route is because in the day and age of so much competition of websites on the internet, people really do not like to pay for much as there is more than likely another website out there offering the same service for free. And as we knew we could send a high amount of unique TARGETED traffic it suited us better to do PPC so that it does not matter if people pay or not as that is not our business...that is down to the service in question to convert the traffic we send. E.g: you have a cars for sale (broad scope)...and i find people that are looking to buy cars..all i can do is send them to you! now, if they come to you and you don't have what they want or you charge too much for a car that some other sales people have for much cheaper or next to nothing...would you still blame me? Especially if im using my time to advertise you and your not doing nothing for me... Tell you what i want you to do..Phone a magazine company and ask them if you can put an advert in their magazine, and when it comes to paying them their money..try telling them they did not perform and you will put them on a percentage of sales. let me know what happens.lol
I also run a Adult Dating site...people looking to meet and have adult sex and fun...that is the same market as AFF how much more do you want me to be targeted?..should i copy their layout and design?

Again, we are in the same market as AFF...its not like im selling old pants on my site and trying to send traffic to AFF...I also have a adult dating and meeting website. The reason i chose PPC is we have good traffic targeted for their service. We can't convert, they are the ones that have to convert the traffic that is being sent to them. They have to be the ones that offer people something that they want and can not get else where for free.
The problem is...AFF has alot of competition on the internet now..and a lot of sites offer what they offer for free..so that's why i chose the PPC. seems logical to go for the PPC to me..so why would it seem ridiculous to you? ;):D:cool:

lol...thats what im saying...it would not be that bad if they left you with what you had made before the change you to their percentage program...but they take money back..which to me comes across as theft as it was stated that it was yours and in "your account" ..so by rights its yours...how could they just take it back...and only try to say the just changed your account over to their percentage program. Hey aff, what about my money you also deducted $150+:mad::confused:

Yep, they are cheats. Sure, it is their right to stop accepting your traffic. But *retroactively* stealing your commissions is nothing but theft. Somebody please get a class action going against these cheats.

I agree with magicgirl on this one. Maintaining a constant 1:20 conversion ratio over time is next to impossible, so AFF knows they will eventually screw you in the end. I also ran a dating site sending traffic to my sponsor (NOT AFF!) and my best conversion was 1:9 during Valentine's Day to throughout the spring, but it doesn't stay that good all year long.

I also believe it's up to the sponsor to convert the traffic I send, not me. My job is simply to send them visitors and it's up to them to have a good enough offer or site to get sales or sign ups from those visitors. My dating sponsor pays me per free sign up with no conversion "tricks" like AFF uses. Even if that free member never upgrades to purchase anything, it's worth the 2 bucks my sponsor pays me, as they get another member added to their database and we all know any dating site is only as good as the number of members it can boast about on its banners and homepage. With AFF they're getting that database from you for free by not paying for the free sign ups. It's cheating, as far as I'm concerned.

The truth about any dating site is you will make more money over time using their revenue sharing program than pay per click program.

You get paid every time a person buy a upgraded membership each month and every month that they do!

if they are the best as you claim...
1: that could only mean all other affiliate sites and companies are really, really, really crap and are more dis-honest, plus other affiliates fall far below AFF and are worth not not joining...is that what your saying?

because AFF is not a honest and clean company for doing business in such away..

    2. You work in their offices...lol
