Pausing an Ad Group

Last evening indeed over the weekend my adgroup was regularly getting into position 2,3 or 4 on its search terms. All keywords and phrases are described as 'Great' and CTR is in the main north of 4% on all KW and phrases. ROI is fine and I am more than happy with it.

Anyway I paused it overnight and restarted it this morning. So far it has given me 122 impression's with one click. I have changed nothing else.

I would have expected that number of impression to have given me 8 - 10 clicks.

My question if an adgroup is doing well and performing as well as say this does it take a little time to get back up into the ranking's and attain the sweet ad positions. If one is attaining the positions wanted then is the general view to leave well alone een so far and not pausing and restarting?

You should never pause campaigns or ad groups unless absolutely necessary. When you re-start, chances are that you will have to fight to regain the position that you previously occupied. Sometimes it'll continue as before; other times you'll have lost the position completely. Leave the campaign/ad group running to gain some quality score. Only pause it if, say, you have to take your landing page off line.
