Hi I was thinking about buying a website that generates about 15,000 unique hits a day, its a myspace resource site. How much do you think it is worth to buy that receives that much hits a day?

    Thanks for all your opinions.

take it's current revenue and multiply it by 6-12 times depending on the future outlook. Impossible to give examples with no data

Yeah, it's hard to say without knowing much about the site. But really, a site is only worth what someone else is willing to pay. Very difficult to put a definitive price on it.

It's very hard to determine without seeing the actual page. Do you have any numbers on revenue?

If its a new site it will be worth less than a site that has had steady profits for a long time.

    Exactly right.

You would need traffic, referrals, sales, maintenance, expenses, hours of upkeep, members if applicable and many other factors.

People giving your advice without seeing screen shots, or looking at all the information, knowing the niche, and all the rest are showing you just how much (or little in this case) they know.

I have yet to see a url, or much info beyond your original post. But some how these DP 'experts' can use their mystic forces to tell you these vague value assessments?

    Come on.

It's a complete joke. Anyone making claims without seeing information, you need to completely disregard them, and their 'tips'. They obviously haven't a clue on how to determine internet property value.

    No offense.

    2 cents.

Kindly show us the website,so that we can have a look at it.
And if it generates 15k traffic a day, then it must be generating good revenue from ads and sponsors too.
SO,i hope,th price is goign to be huge,if you want to buy it.
But before that, make sure, that the traffic and revenue stats are genuine.

15,000 unique visitors is different then 15,000 hits a big difference. Don't buy a site by traffic judge by revenue then by net profit. Then pay what you think it is worth.

How long do you want to wait to make your investment back?

Exactly. Which is why referral screen shots come into play. You need to know where the traffic comes from, and what kind.

DP is FULL of pump n dumps! That is where people throw hit bot traffic at a site, hype it up, and sell it off to some noob for a song. Then all the supposed traffic, and "potential" drops off and you are left with garbage you can't unload.

Also, anyone using, and citing, any of those "site or value assessment" things are a true noob.

Go ahead and try a few, or all of them. Last time I checked some of my sites, the dollar amount for most are off by 10's of thousands of dollars. lol... I do not know about you, but anything or 'formula' that can't be reinforced by closer that a few 10's of thousands is not reliable.

This is why it is important to know HOW to evaluate property. Shoemoney wrote on this, and it's been touched on many times all of this section and others. There are MANY things that go into evaluating a website.

It's not any 3-10 months of revenue, nor what some valuation site tells you. Also keep in mind DP is notorious for low ballers with no money.

you have to take into account the future cost ... since it's a myspace resource site ... you'll have to see where the images are hosted ...

the B/W cost is very important ...
