Microsoft has announced that it has plans to begin a new deal with search Engine giant Yahoo. Click here to read all about it.
I believe everything is about take to an end Google's monopoly, a follow-up on this new will be interesting
It's becoming tiring...They said they didn't want to go hostile, now they are back again while their previous offer was rejected. If they really want it, they just need to raise that offer to a level Yahoo! shareholders can't say no to it. Microsoft definitely can afford it...
Google is slightly ahead of Microsoft and Yahoo ,If they combine together they can't achieve much but if they start something parallel to adsense they can earn more revenues... But not certainly with Yahoo (YPN) which is only open to US and CANADIAN Webmasters.... The reason why google is sucessful is they are accepting publishers all over the world but that's not the case with Yahoo
it's not the shareholders that rejected it in the first place, it was the board... which is partly why Yang et al might have no choice to deal now because Billionare investor Carl Ichan (well known for proxy fights) has threatened to lead a shareholder revolt and oust the current Yahoo board if they dont sell.
Microsoft can offer the best price to Yahoo than anyother company. Hence Yahoo will join Microsoft to fight google monopoly in online advertising.
Don't forget about Carl Icahn and his threat to start a proxy fight. Microsoft seems closer than ever to make the deal with Yahoo...
Even if Google buys Yahoo it wont be one coz Google never changes the name of the company when it takes over like MS does.... So Google and Yahoo will b still separate even if its owned by Google
Yahoo's key investor was the one who arranged the deal. After nearly being sued for his role in it, Yahoo's CEO said he would be willing to consider talks with Microsoft. After he said that one of Yahoo's key investors decided to break the ice himself and get the two companies to begin talking again. I think a partnership would be much better at this stage than a buyout. Number one Yahoo and Microsoft has very different strategies at how they do business and getting these people to integrate would be hard. On the other hand if they are able to work something out (maybe merge mobile apps for upcoming Zune Phone and Window's mobile 7) it might work. The only thing I'm interested in is both of them kicking Google's ass. I think Google has become too big for their shoes and someone needs to take them down.
