    While searching for my website name with google, I have noticed that google when listing pages at the top of the result page says: "Did You mean:some names similar to my domain name".

    Why does this happen?

    As you can see there is a fairly famous program called "WhatToDo" and probably it got searched more times than "SimpleTold".
    That's why Google decide you got it wrong by searching "SimpleTold".

    The funny part is that if Loco.M (and other users) search for WhatToDo many times this will influence Google.

    You can't do nothing right now. However I'm sure this issue will disappear when your site become more popular and established :)

    If there are not sufficient sites with the keyword, it is normally shown so that the users can see related searches

    Keyword1

    Did you mean keyword2?
    - Check results: Keyword2 got way more results

    Beat that.. and when people are searching for Keyword2.. google is going to say;

    Did you mean keyword1?

    :D

    I think when we search anything with keywords, Google break the whole keywords or phrase and try to show some meaningful keywords or phrases. Google has full dictionary and so, they can easily break the words.

    Suppose you search a keywords and gets the Do you mean: like this -

    Searched Keywords Do you mean:

    directoryhunting = directory hunting
    hairheadache reasons = hair headache reasons
    googlemad scientiest = google mad scientiest
    yahoo getfat = yahoo get fat
    mysite isfighting forvisitor = mysite is fighting for visitor

    etc.......

    It produces some funny results sometimes, I heard someone typed in "Google is the worst SE" in russian and it responded "Did you mean: Google is the best SE". Hehe, talk about narcissism.

    If your site is new and do have many backlinks, then this will happen. I used to search my sites name and I also got that "Did You Mean" message.

    But after building some backlinks with my sites name in anchor text, the message as soon gone.

    If you don't want to see that message, then get some backlinks with your site name in anchor text.

    It happens sometimes because, even though you've spelled the search term correctly, Google thinks it may be a spelling mistake and offers an alternative.
