Traffic still not recovered since last PR update

Around 1 May (last PR update) my site went from PR0 to PR2. However, ever since then my Google traffic has gone to zero and not recovered.
I thought it may have recovered by now. My site has not been de-indexed, just the SERP results for my keywords have dropped down to around 300-500. My site has been live since 1st March and some have said new sites get a little "boost" after they go live - is this true? Maybe my "boost" has now gone.

Any ideas why my SERPs are so low? Why did it lose SERPs at the same time as the PR went to PR2? is this a coincidence?

    Thanks.
    Andy

Pagerank and SERPs are two different factors, you earn Pagerank based on backlinks to your web pages; each web page has it's own Pagerank value. The issue can be that competitors have out done you with on-page\off-page optimization and\or changes in Google's algorithm resulted in you losing your position in search results. Proper analysis of your site would be needed to see what is going on.

Ok thanks. I know the 2 cant be related but I just found it kinda weird that my traffic stopped completely at exactly the same time as I went up in PR. My guess is something has changed in Google's algorithm. I'm getting some traffic from MSN and MS Live, but nowhere near as much from Google.

Well, the change might of been introduced at the same time, review your on-page optimization and make sure it's currently optimal to community respected standards.

Don't worry about it...I ranked in the top 5 for my two main keywords on Google...but they disappeared about the same time yours did. I went and did some more link building for the keywords, and they've moved back up to page 1 again. I was getting almost 1500 uniques a day before, and after it went down to 400...because my main keywords that brought in the traffic were gone.

Do some link building and you should get back near where you were before.

If PageRank meant nothing, then Google wouldn't even be using it to begin with. I strongly suggest you learn what PageRank is, how it's used, and what its impact (not to mention benefits/consequences) are before you say that it's meaningless again.
