I have had some extra time on my hands recently and was thinking of creating a site, but I don't know what to do that would bring the most traffic and yield the greatest income. I was thinking of making something like a small social networking site, a digg-like site, or maybe a Yahoo Answers-type site. I was also thinking of maybe making a forum or two as well, though they are sometimes hard to startup. What are some other ideas for websites to create that would make money?
Get some products with MRR rights and sell them at a website. This method is working well for me.. With this method you need little promotion (just a blog post and submit your article to ezinearticles).
1. Buy "hosting reseller" and give a free hosting, but your customer must to put your ads on the bottom of his site 2. Open some warez forum and put your ads on it, warez forums are very popularity today
Hi, I think you need to first consider what type of visitors *click* on ads. For example teen sites often gets lots of clicks for ppc ads because the teens have all the time in the world for more surfing. So, my suggestion is to look around at first to cater to a particular audience and then look at the products that you can serve them. IMHO, Sam
If you'd like to create a site, but you don't want to create a lot of content, I'd make like you suggested, a social site. Go to HotScripts.com and check out the options on great scripts. At the very least, you might generate an idea or two of what you want to do. I always recommend getting involved in something you'd actually spend time at. Like if you find yourself spending tons of time in chat rooms, create a chat room.
Well RichSage mentioned that teens have a lot of time to click on ads. That was my idea when I was leaning towards a social networking site, but thinking about all of the others out there (MySpace and Facebook obviously leading right now), it would be hard to get a lot of traffic and constant users. With the MRR idea, not sure what that even was before you introduced it, but I would have no idea how to work that and it would seem like I would go into the situation blindfolded if I did that. Good idea though, I may check it out for the future.
I think you need to do some research to find what is popular right now but not too overcrowded. I would agree with above that social networking sites are popular but there are big ones out there to compete with, it wouldn't be easy. The teen market is big, but are they really buyers? Health and self improvement markets are quite popular just now too. It's a hard decision decided which niche or type of site to create so make sure you do your keyword research to see if there is a demand before you jump into anything
Something that you enjoy working on, that you will continue to enjoy working on for years down the road, and something you won't get sick of. The sites that tend to be money makers are the ones where the owners continue to work on adding content and building links year in and year out. It's good to research your niche and make sure there's profit potential but don't just chase what's popular. The wannabes don't get rich; the innovators do.
