Can I buy a site which brings 50-80 USD a month. I have, say, 500 bucks for it.
    Your opinion, please.

How much work is involved in getting this 50-80 a month? If a lot of posting and advertising, then sure, $500 is reasonable. If it's a set and go site, then I would probably say you're getting a steal.

I disagree. Most websites sell for approx a years revenue. 50*10 is 500. Just under a year. He'd be able to find that easy.

10-15 months of income is by average while buying a site, could be more depending on the niche

Why you want to spend $500 for such low income site ? Not worth it in first place, it's better to create $80/month site by yourself.

I also disagree and will not pay more than $500 for it. It's very low income so need to recoupe very fast. The more income per month the more you can expect with multiplies with exceptions of course.

There is no automatic 10 month for revenue rule on any site. There are more factors to consider.

Site's with high retention and steady income (most importantly proof) go for up to 18-24+ months of revenue. Sites with membership, and recurring money for example.

Proxies, these 6 month old sites and so on will sell for much less that 10 months.

Only noobs, and people who do not know how to evaluate internet property, and domains keep running around citing this '10 months rule'. No offense to the O.P.. Just annoys me when I see it.

As for the topic at hand, $500.00 can get you a site, but I would not expect it to bring you in solid investment. It might be a good starter site with some minor traffic, and good design. You might get lucky and run across one of the thousands around who need cash fast.

Make sure you do your homework on the site though! Screen shots for revenue, traffic, referrers, and so on.

Many around here sell off these pump n dumps to noobs. Beware

    Well said ^^

    and I particularly liked :

Pump with junk traffic and sell to a noobie.

I agree you must be very careful and do your homework first .... we all fell for it once.

Thank you to all. I've not figured out yet, if I'll buy a site. I just wanted to know if it's possible. It seems very difficult to purchase a good site. So many junks in Internet.

You can do anything you want and listening to most here is an exercise in negativity.

I bought a site for $75.00 at the end of last year that has earned over $2,000.00 this year

    :D

I also have made $700.00+ in a mothers day affiliate offer without a website.

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something unless they have a gun to your head!!!!

500 is too much of price for 50-60$ per month site. Probably $200 would be good price.

Not even close. That's typical DP low balling.

But as I said before, depends on the site, how long it's been around, the KIND of sales and retention, traffic, referrals, time of upkeep, etc.

Maybe you can buy it in a cheaper price?? It depends on how you value the website... worth or not you decide! :)

Well, I can create a new site, advertise it through adwords for 100$, get to 50~80$ earnings, and sell it to you for $500. Then the next month you get close to $0 in earnings because there is no organic traffic in it.

I would have invested $100+$12 (cost of domain name registration and hosting) and earned $500, profit is $388. Think about it.
