Myspace Resource Owners -- Earnings Question...

    Hi all,

I was searching through the selling sites section yesterday, as i was thinking of getting rid of my PR4, 2000 hits a day, custom made resource site.

It's making me nothing, like $30 a month.

Anyway, while looking in the selling area, i found a site for sale:

    It gets 1300 hits, is a PR3, and earns $240 a month!

This earns so much better then mine! and we both have about the same stats.

Will anyone share their earnings and stats please. I think my site may need a total redesign or somthing to earn more money.

What are you making your money off of? Google? It's hard to know without seeing your site. My site is a PR3 and I don't make $30 a month from advertising, but then my goal is to sell writing services.

Hits are nothing, I hope you're meaning site visitors? This site I'm talking about isn't all that popular and so far this month has only 13477 hits, it's not a full month yet. (I don't advertise all that much, I mostly use it as a spot for editors to check me out at.) But even 1300 would be low per month for visitors. My site gets 2000 visitors a month on average.

Another question you could ask if this guy is pulling your chain. I doubt he's making that much money off of just that site, or he's selling something off of the site. I don't have the links so I couldn't point out anything.

    Hi CalissaLeigh,

Is your site actually a myspace resource site? or somthing else?

Most of the myspace ads do look very "clickable" the ones currently running on my site look almost like buttons/links to other areas -- which is good.

But the site im talking about, the guy has placed to large adsense blocks next to each other which im guessing is the reason its making more then mine.

I might redesign and try that layout.

Any other myspace resource site owners experimented with adsense positions for best earnings?

good luck with your site CalissaLeigh by the way :)

(p.s im using just adsense, getting 1000 uniques a day / 2000 hits) earning $30 with adsense a month.)

    I tried running one these sites. I don't see any money in it, mainly for this reason;
You have to buy too much stuff. Glitters, layouts you have to buy it all. Then before you know it you drop like hundreds of dollars into it just to get it started. Then there is asses who will rip your site, or you may decide to rip other peoples sites for stuff. Really bad imo.

I started one as I said and I probably put $50 into it, and made like nothing back. Its very saturated market.
I took it as loss and just forget about the site and moved on, becuase I was not going to steal other peopls stuff to get the site content. and paying for it seems not worth it for the such low money you would get back from the ads.

Myspace resource site market is very saturated but for 1k unique visitors daily you should pull around min 100 150$ monthly.I guess you should check out your CTR

yeah, your right Dollar, i have easily spent about $100+ on getting it going/buying/making stuff. but its all done now :) I havent done anything with it for over 6months, and its kept the 2000 uniques.

Can any other Myspace resource site owners confirm this amount? It seems great compared to what im getting.

What ads are you running? You really should consider also running additional ad services as well as Google.

I agree wholeheartedly with Dollar. Myspace resource sites are a highly saturated market and you have to shell out a ton of cash to get a site running by buying graphics for it, links, etc. It's easy to sink $1k and get virtually nothing back in return.

I've added another big block of adsense onto my page now.

But after looking at 1 days rev. It looks like my CTR had gone down :(

I'll leave it for a week, then try changing the ads to youtube ads or somthing.

I'd really like to get my adsense up to $100 for this one site.

    Cheers.

Google ads tend not to perform very well on those sites unless they are heavily used by the correct demographic. Better throwing in another ad network or two.
