Setting Up Membership Site On ClicBank?

I'm working on my first CB product as a vendor (it's coming along well) and I'm considering using a membership site system (one time lifetime payment most likely) for a couple of reasons.

#1 My product will have quite a few components to it and I'd like to showcase all of those components within a membership site rather than just include them all in a ZIP download, as that seems less enticing to customers and I'm concerned that some of my customers won't know how to deal with a ZIP file?

#2 It seems like having a membership site would be a little easier to sell than an eBook to my target demo. Maybe I'm completely wrong about that. That's part of the reason I'm asking for advice on it.

Basically I don't know the technical aspect of setting up a membership site at all and I'm looking for some advice on what to use to set it up and how much it will cost. I'm also wondering if you've had experience with membership sites and whether or not you think it's worth going to this extra trouble?

    ---

As an aside - generally how long does it take when you are submitting a new product to CB as a new vendor to get that product accepted & ready to go?

If you want to develop a recurring income (and who doesn't), membership sites are definitely the way to go and you can keep adding content for your members as you go.

There are many options regarding price for setting up a membership site but it really depends on how many bells and whistles you want/need.

As for the CB question, you can usually you can get approved inside of a week.

Yes, this is really the info I'm looking for.

I'm considering including a forum in my members area... but I'm not positive.

well...for me, im using simple htaccess with a unique login and password wich is given away on the thank you page...the disavantage of this is that you cannot monitor or close accounts individually.

You could try dlguard, I use it as a membership site script and it's totally secure and there are a ton of other options it allows you to use as well.

I don't think you can set up a traditional membership site in CB - only fixed term memberships (I.E billed every month for 12 months, etc)

I'm definitely looking into dlguard - thanks for the suggestion. It looks like it may be exactly what I'm looking for.

    ---

popedope - Hmm... Well that wouldn't be ideal - but perhaps I could do something like if you're a member for 12 months you become a "lifetime" member.

I'll have to look into that more. Thanks for the tip.

I've heard good things about using Joomla for membership sites.

Well I like the sound of that as it's free. But I don't have any experience using Joomla.

I think I'm going to initially sell the product as a normal downloadable CB product and then possibly add the membership site option later.

Both DLguard and aMember are good ways to set up a paid membership site. Clickbank does allow recurring memberships- i think they set the limit to 7 years.

You may want to also use a content management system (CMS) like joomla or wordpress to handle the management of your content.
