Is Paypal being Sued?

Today I went to my paypal account and it was like a dozen payments that said "PayPal Balance Adjustment". I was happy to see the money in my account but I was very supicious, so I called paypal. In speaking with the lady, she reveiwed my account and said the credits were legit. I asked her what happen and all she would say is that there was a "glich" in paypal's system and it had been corrected. This was a payment for those errors. I kept digging and phishing for a more specific answer but it was like she was trying to cover something up. The credit somehow related to several chargebacks that I recieved all the way back through January. There was no way to like the credits to specific transactions though. I'm still happy to have the money but does anyone have any Idea what's happening with them?

It would be strange if Paypal is not under some court cases or class actions of some kind or other given their size. For such companies as large as them being sued is as normal as eat and sleep to us. Nothing to worry about. If there is a material impact, it would be stated under their company filing.

There is nothing to say that they needed to only issue adjustments when there is a lawsuit. It is possible that they found some errors in their systems and are just correcting it. They certainly do have to comply to accounting rules and the law.

Personally, I do not think you should be suspicious about the adjustments or try to read between the lines and just enjoy the money.

Paypal probably has 500 lawsuits at any given time. Their system most likely had some mis-calculation that was caught during an audit or some check. If Paypal says they're legitimate then, there's probably nothing to worry about.

You will need to check their SEC filing, normally they will put serious cases as foot notes. I guess most of the frivolous cases will not be recorded in their filings.
