If you don't believe what I believe then you are wrong!

As absurd as a statement that may be, we are all guilty of it. We all have our own beliefs. Beliefs about religion, politics, science and so on. When we come across someone who does not believe the same thing, of course the natural reaction is to say they are wrong.

The reality is, just because someone does not believe what you believe does not make them wrong. Anymore than someone believing the same thing makes you right.

I'm not sure what my point really is here other than to look at the statement,

"If you don't believe what I believe then you are wrong."

Realize how absurd it is and use that realization when dealing with people. Whether it be here a DP or out in the real world.

I for one certainly need to practice that more.

There is something called absolute right. When you're right you're right!

Lol, I hope you are just highlighting the absurdity of the statement "If you don't believe what I believe then you are wrong" rather than illustrating the perfect example of such.

Illustrating the perfect example of such. :D

Science and GOD says there is a absolute ending to the universe.

When that time comes whoever said they believed it will be right. Whoever says they don't believe it will be wrong.

Whether they believed it because of GOD or science or both will be another story but, both GOD and science say it will happen.

Science says the universe is slowing down at a pace, and it will stop.

That type of belief will make some people right and some people wrong.

That would be similar to the same type of belief that the world is flat, or the sun revolves around the earth. What may make perfect sense and seem absurd to think otherwise, does not make anyone correct.

That's just the type of beliefs that make people right or wrong.

Whoever believed the Earth was round was right. :D

Whoever believed the Earth was flat was wrong.

Put yourself back in time, and just for a moment consider that what you believe now is akin to believing the earth was flat.

I hope that at least for a moment you are open to considering that suggestion.

However, if you are so convinced that you are right and anyone else is wrong, then so be it. There is no way I can change your mind and I really have no desire to do so. As long as you are happy with your beliefs and you don't impose them upon me, all is good.

That would depend on what my belief system was based on.

Many people don't believe anything until they pursue an answer, that's what we should all do. No matter what point in time we are blessed to live are life in

Most of the world didn't believe Israel would be a nation again 100 years ago and beyond.

    The bible said they would.

Those who believed the Bible were right.

Those who didn't belive it were wrong.

I agree with that, I was born with a desire to pursue an "answer". I have been fortunate enough to have traveled the world and see how different peoples and cultures have pursued an answer. I have done my best to respect their beliefs and not to impose my own and I have learned learned a lot along the way.

The biggest lesson I have learned, is there are many answers to the ultimate question. I might have a big head on my shoulders, but it is not so big that that it covers my eyes.

You know, maybe there is something like the absolute right or the absolute wrong. I for one, don't feel qualified to make those sort of judgements.

the real question is why do we have to wait for the judgment day, when we already can do it our selves.
