Not true. Bloggers and online publishers do it all the time. A link from within an article or a blog is a permanent link...
I doubt you'll find many archived blog pages with a PR8 that will sell you a link - it would have to be a PR9 or PR10 site.
Yes, Have you already tried free forums? it is difficult to get a link in fourms at time but it is worth a lot if you get one. I don't think paid link work.
Your pagerank will get bigger but you won`t jump many places up in search engine results for relevant keywords in your category...
To all those who claim that this link will produce no benifit I'd strongly disagree with you, of course a PR 8 link will help, the question is not "how" rather "how much". You have to do a cost-benefit analysis, you could get a couple of PR 5 links that are related to your site for the same amount.
I think it would be better for you to actually spend that money in submitting to a couple of quality web directories than to spend all that money on a single PR8 site.
PR8 backlink for a site would be a god send gift as you can also make money out of it you are investing in buying the link
just buy advertising eg.. banner ads or cpm ads. it will probably equal out to our cost less then the pr8 link plus you won't have to worry about getting google slapped.
it would be better to just get a link from a high ranking site within your keyword, it will boost your rankings more than any other type of link I can think of
Probably not worth it unless you are going for some crazy niche, best to go get some high quality directory submissions and spend the money on relevant links etc.
It'll be helpful if the site is related to your niche but it'll take some time to see the change and I don't think you'll be able to make into top10 with a single PR8 link. Again, make sure that the site is related to your niche.
It depends what you're after. If you want traffic and serps, then the PR1 links form relevant sites might do more than the PR 8. If you want PageRank juice to go to your site...1 PR8 site would be better than at least 500 PR1's.
I think PR8 link could be a good choice if its content matches with yours. If not, you don't take a lot of benefits and it would be better to exchange link with other sites of your niche... The best is, of course, to complete natural exchange links with high PR relevant links...
Yes it can do wonders with your PR. BUT, check the top 10 sites for your keyword (mmorpg or whatever)... if the top sites are authority sites, or have a decent amount of backlinks, forget investing in a link.
It will provide benefits even if it's unrelated "providing" Google hasn't manually stopped that page passing Pagerank. Look at other links on the page that have been there are a while, if they are only around PR3's stay away. Honestly you are better off buying a bunch of PR6/5 links with your change for the same value, if the PR8 links Pagerank gets nullified you aren't going to know and will spend a lot of money for nothing. Diversify in to several slightly lower PR links, that way if one or a couple take a hit the whole thing won't be in vein. BTW been there done that, seriously spend your cash towards creative ideas that will obtain natural links.
