Widgetbucks Popunders - Very sketchy

I don't mind them offering a new ad type, thats great, some will take advantage of it. The problem herein lies in the fact that ITS TURNED ON BY DEFAULT. You have to edit each individual ad unit to turn it off, and replace the ad code on all your pages. Thats a pretty big pain in the ass, and I would never serve popunders on my website.

They have some nerve forcing this on people. Most would never read their blog and have the popunders forced on their visitors.

I did not receive a newsletter regarding this. I will be pulling widgetbucks (mostly because their rates suck these days, but also because of this)

 

Interesting what pay rate they will offer for this popunders.

 

I heard about the new CPM pop-ups but haven't heard anything about having to update code. It doesn't sound likely - I mean not only would it piss off publishers yet again (only a few months since the last code change) but it's Javascript so it's all updated at their end.

 

you don't have to update the code. it's the same code as before.
just tick off the pop under in each widget if you didn't like it.

 

widgetbucks = piss off visitors + piss off publishers + piss off google .. looks like lot of publishers have already left widgetbucks .. and they are now sending mails to publishers guaranteeing CPMs

 

Yes you do. It changes the code when you uncheck the box.

I hate the idea. Some sites use pop unders to redirect to other sites.

 

Crappy, I'm sure. Just like their CPM ads already are.

 

I have heard decent things from WidgetBucks..

However it is definatly "Sketchy" in updating their publishers via free blog..

i m going to give a try to widgetbucks....

 

i agree with you... they piss me off bad.. and so i removed there crap from my website... only keeping it for referral... i haven't been showing there craps from the last 2 or 3 months because they secretly remove my clicks and those clicks that they dont remover are sucks because of 0.01 for 12 clicks.... i earn 0.40 for a click at bidvertiser.... its horrible how i get 0.01 for 12 clicks... i think all my referrals also dropped there crap because my referral earning stopped too from the last 2 months... i have over 40 referrals.... i even send them an email asking what happen to there claim that widgetbucks is a adsense alternative. but they didnt replied me.... so its all fake claim they made.... i will suggest everyone not to use widgetbucks.... there are lots of other networks that dont steal from there publisher...

 

Yeah I left them a while ago also, after they introduced country specifics, I would be sweating if I was one of the big investors who laid out 10 million big ones for this .... I am spewing when I loose $40 - but $10mil was apparently the investment sum ....
