I tried to log into my site a few minutes ago, but a black page appeared and the message was; Owned this sited hacked by CEM111. I searched on the net and found out that this CEM111 is an islamic cyber warrior.and an enemy of bush. But why would he / she jack my blog which has a pr 0, and minimal traffic whatsoever. What should I do? I feel like I have been robbed I can't believe it help
You can see the blog in question under my name( recent posts), please tell me how to get my site back, and will there be a lot of damage? There was no business acitivity, only a blog and a sub domain blog which I had yet to start. Will I be able to restore my posts?
Just log into your Cpanel and "restore the back up from yesterday"... then CHANGE your password and update the blog software to the lastest version... if you need help. PM me.
Thanks SD. Problem solved ( i think), called the support at server, they did everything. everything looks normal, i haven't tried writing a post yet.
I agree with SanDiego, just restore your backup and you will get your contents back......I think there is no hacking business
Also try to figure out how your blog got hacked. Make sure their are no open bits to your website where a hacker can easily get access to your admin side of things.
When the site was hacked, I was really angry and thought of writing a strong mail to the server admin, but then their support was very effective and things got settled soon and I forgot to ask them if it was at their end. Thanks Electro
Restoring your site, just got your data back. It didn't fix the security you have or someone on your shared hosting service (if you're on a shared host) has. You might want to contact your hosting company and see if it has happened to someone else. You may want to update your blog's script and any plugins you may have used. Alway check G. for security alerts on the blog script you use. phplife
Definitely would be a good idea to try and find out how you were hacked. As just restoring the previous backup (although a good way to get back up and running) will not have fixed the security hole that was used to hack your site. Maybe they grabbed your password from somewhere else (do you reuse your passwords) otherwise it could be a vulnerable script or plugin in your blog. Good idea to check with your host to see if others were also affected - as this would indicate that the server was hacked and not just your account.
