    Yeah, that's exactly it.

    And as you mention, the method is hard to implement and get results. Actually, what ebook tells is the most efficient way(s) to get people come and visit your site. It's been about 1.5 months and I've been getting about 50 visitors per day (maybe more. I just check the ones come from a referer that has "stats" "awstats" etc in the URL).

    Since all the visitors are webmasters, they generally have Alexa toolbar / sparky installed. That means, 30 people all having toolbar installed is better than 1000 people with 10 installed the toolbar. You can see the increase in my site's Alexa ranking after I started to apply the method.

    And another important point is that there are several "public" stat counters that can be "seen" by SE robots meaning that, even if it is slightly, there will be an addition to your pagerank (actually it added to mine. you can check link:3dreference.org in google and see the links from "extremetracking")

    Altough you have a suspicious and accusing attitude, I really thank you for shairng your doubts. That gave me a chance to answer the questions.
