I own mostly finance/weight loss/dating/entertainment blogs and forums, but don't make much from them. For PPC I tend to stick with some good dating offers that have high CPA ($5-$6 per lead), offers that people buy on impulse, and a few small email submits or short form sites on banner buys. I like to keep it simple, but bring the volume and pay very close attention to tracking and keyword research.
Congrats man, Thats the most awesome income I have ever heard of You are likely to already be a millionaire
wow man thats a ton of money...is it worth it to spend that much money if I don't sell anything on my website? my website is only an arcade and the only money it makes is the money from adsense http://www.armastevs.com
Trypp, How do you make a profit with $6 dating leads when the minimum bids for niches like that are high? In other words, how do you get a low CPC for competitive niches?
CPC isn't much if you keep improving your quality scores. When I start a new campaign, I bid high, take a loss sometimes, but usually make it back fairly quickly. I also keep adding content to my subpages every few days. There's a lot of ways to increase your scores. Dating is very competitive, but if you think outside the box a bit, it's very profitable.
Trypp, what if the QS is great? What can we do to lower the CPC? I'm in a market that pays an average commision of $75 and my site conversion is 2% but to be in top 3 for the best kws - for this market there are like 5 kws that bring all the good traffic - I'd have to bid about $2.5/click.
If the quality score is great, try optimizing and split testing your LPs and ad copy. I'm not sure what your niche is, but 2% seems rather low. I think split testing will help you. You should also be grabbing an opt in list to increase your conversions.
Very happy for your success. One question, for your PPC campaign with dating offers, do you direct linking to merchant's landing page or drive traffic to your own landing page first?
