I am using iJoomla Magazine which is easy to use and serves its purpose well. My site cellubration.com has a slight issue though. I can't get the Frontpage to write any type of static Meta Data. I know I can with Joomla 1.5 but I don't want to convert over 1000 articles and other info over to 1.5, not to mention my back end components won't work with 1.5 so that's not a possibility. Does anyone know of a hack that will allow me to force meta data on the frontpage and still allow my forced meta tags on articles to remain unchanged?
you can use joomla seo tools and you can also made home page static easily read complete joomla refrence book , there you will get something about it.
I know with Joomla I can make it static, I'm very familiar with the Joomla backend my problem is with iJoomla Magazine, even the iJoomla team can't figure out how to make a meta description and meta keywords stick. BTW, I'm using SEF Advanced, but it can't touch the frontpage.
Would it be possible to manually edit the template files and include the meta tags there? You may also want to confirm that your configuration.php file is writeable. With some hosting providers, you may have to actually assign 777 as the permissions to allow the changes you enter in the admin panel of Joomla to be saved.
Cbrooker, I thought of that, no I can't hack the html, its all dynamically created based on the content displayed. I have writeable functions enables properly, the site has been up for 10 months and has been jumping way up in the ratings, so I have a pretty good understanding of the inner workings, its this F$(King ijoomla issue that won't go away, they fixed it in 1.5 but half the components I use don't have a Joomla 1.5x extension yet.
