I'm just curious how other people are doing... My ratio was 1:14 on my first day. Do you guys find that this figure stays pretty steady or gets worse over time? Any one have incites on how to get more visitors to convert? Not that I'm complaining, it still pays better than adsense.

I think it depends which niche you have...

    My ratio (average) is 1:10... I got 1:6 - 1:13

When I was using Zango new, my ratio average was 1:6

It depends on the traffic and content type. My average is 1:20-30.

What type of content works well for you guys? My traffic is almost exclusively from stumbleupon at the moment and has been converting at an average of 1:24 - My stats seem a bit deceiving though, because my site has gotten about 700 uniques today, but zango registers only 50 or so hits... that means that 650 of my visitors don't make it to a zango gateway page which is impossible because according to gostats, the average visitor has 1.6 pageviews and you don't have to go very far in to make it to a gateway.

The content must be "forcing" the visitors to install ZangoCash. Porn, arcade, download sites work very well. Also, StumbleUpon traffic tend to be very unreliable (yes it is massive at first, but disappears completely later). The visitors from SU do not tend to install anything to their computer, because the next site is just a click/stumble away.

Search engine visitors are the best visitors for ZangoCash, so you better have a good ranked site for maximum earnings. Your site has gotten 700 uniques, but they only got to the first page/gateway and click away. The Zango stats show 50, because only they passed the gateway somehow, either because they have javascript disabled or use ad blocking stuff.

If you are using the normal gateway which redirects the visitor to a ZangoCash subdomain (and not the popover one which you get from your affiliate manager), the visitor may click the cancel button on the installation and they are returned to the previous page. This is recorded by the stats software as a second page view, but does not get recorded by ZangoCash as a hit, because they don't pass the gateway.

Or at least, that is my opinion in the case. I appresiate your rep if I was helpful. :)

Thanks for your input Mrgee! That's a very good point about stumble users having the ability to just click out of the site - I am using the pop over gateway by the way, but I only have it come up on a page with content. Has anyone tried the pop over gateway on their home page? My guess is this probably drives away lots of users, but maybe its worth trying for traffic as unreliable as stumbleupon? I think I might run an experiment with that this weekend.

Placing the pop-over in content pages is a good idea, because visitors will not have unpleasant experience as soon as they visit your site, but will have the time to enjoy your content first. Also, StumbleUpon should not be used on ZangoCash sites, because you can easily get thumbs down and the traffic will quickly disappear. You better use CPM ads for sites with StumbleUpon traffic like AdBrite (let me know if you want an affiliate link). You will get both massive visitors, because they won't be driven away by the annoying popups, and they will eventually give you thumbs up, equalling even more traffic and earnings for you. As for if you were using ZangoCash in the case, you would get more thumbs down and get far less traffic and fewer installs, equalling less earnings.
