I'd be a millionaire just putting an e-mail in plain test on a site that barely gets traffic LOL

    I made $16,000 from myspace
    was it from spamming?
no one will ever know :)

    btw lol
    $50k?
these kings made about a few million from it
they spammed bulletins of 700k accounts (or something like that)
from personal experience, these accounts have about 300 friends to 100k friends on each one
    so, lets say 1k average
700,000,000 friends, but obviously take out all the dupes
let's say, oh, 200mil people got the bulletin? Idk, but everyone on myspace, basically
lets say 40mil read the bulletins
    a conversion rate of 2%, 800,000 people
a payout rate of $4 per person- $3,200,000

50k doesn't seem like much now, does it?

also keep in mind they messaged 700k people and commented 700k people
there was a LOT of money to be made from myspace back in the day
I know a 13 year old who made $100,000 from it
from spamming bulletins and selling them

you used to pay $200 for a bulletin to 4 million people (inc dupes n shit) from phished accounts
and 4mil friends from legit accounts? around $500

you used to get about 15 sales per day, and 4mil wasn't the highest "package" people sold- there were some for 30mil for $800

people who used to sell bulletins used to make a daily average of $4,000, and that's an under exaggeration if anything

Can you imagine the internet without spammers - I think they should get jail time instead of a fine, or jailtime + a fine - anyway, let them get locked up for a while and only feed them spam -

It's very funny to read extremist thoughts about spammers on this thread and questions about how to post ads on Craigslist on other threads!

If you read carefully the case went to "default" which means MySpace was awarded everything they asked for because the spammers never showed up in court to defend themselves after being served. They've probably already moved overseas with a wad of cash and started over. I doubt Myspace will ever see a dime.

Frankly even if they were there, they wont be able to even pay a fraction of the award.

It seems a ridiculous amount but i guess its the old "making an example" scenario... although they will never get it from them and they know it... it does send a loud and clear message out we can and will finacially break you if you spam.

Would make you think twice if you were a company... ;)

Not really I guess the spammers are out there somewhere enjoying life with the money they made from spamming. It just tells the world that spamming pays.

But we all know crime pays but certain crime has different levels of risk attached to it. Spamming being one of the lowest, but now, a different story... yeah crime pays, but now, its probably hitting you on the same level as say dealing drugs. You will do a stretch for not paying the fine and you can bet your life it will a handful.

I'm over here marketing on MySpace properly by building a community on there, and I'm making a fraction of what these guys made.

I believe in honest and hard work, dun care about what others make, as long as you work hard I am sure you will succeed. It will be better than being rich fugitives all their lives.
