    Hi,

Probably never gonna happen but think it would be a BIG asset and an additional tool for trading members.

There should be a sub-forum called "trader disputes" or something like that in the BST section where all DP'ers can go to run background checks on members they are looking to trade with. Although the iTrader system serves its purpose to a certain degree it is clear with 100's of "i got scammed" and "beware scammer threads" that it is not fully working.

So would be a good place to go... and a parking place for all those said threads ;)

Sorry... I have to disagree. There are far to many threads created in regards to people scamming. iTrader system works ok but its limited. For example in a previous thread i asked about leaving mulitple iTrader for the same user, reply was "yes" but it wont add to the count. Therefore a user doing a small good deal with a buyer/seller gets positive iTrader can then move on to scam then later without worrying about recourse on DP.

A sub-forum were people can check past threads and look at past problems people have had with buyers/seller well better enable and most important better protect any buyer/seller wishing to carrying out a transaction.

I really think you it would be a positive step in the community, maybe a poll in general chat could be created to get the communities feedback on the proposal? Just my thoughts.....

I doubt it'll ever happen. iTrader works fine as it is.

Man is it just me.. am i missing something... Have you not seen all the "I have been scammed posts" - "theres another scammer on the lose" - "i just got scammed again" - "my domains were stolen" etc... etc... etc... if the iTrader system was working perfectly we would not see the volume of threads that we do. Albeit, there would of course be threads if the system were perfect but not at this level... its a daily reoccurance.

You have to take care of yourself as there are so many scammers around. Not just at DP but at all others forums.

I totally agree, and lets face it forums are built on reputation for sure (this is what keeps us coming back) but if life could be that little bit easier and that little bit safer is it really not worth adding such a small feature that could have hugh benefits.

"trader disputes" is nothing more then name and shame. this has been discussed many time here and rejected. any disputes between members is just that, between the members and not subject to review by mods or other members of DP.

so buyer beware and know with whom you are dealing with.

Ok so if thats the case... then WHY keep all the threads scattered everywhere regarding this? Surely an independant section would not only tidy the situation but give a centralised place for people to go with this.

iTrader already exists for providing feedback for members. It's the responsibility of each individual buyer and seller and research who they're doing business with first - no reason you can't ask for referrals if they don't have much iTrader yet. And a forum would be extremely difficult to moderate (why we already don't get involved in members' business disputes), and would be very easily abused.
