Hi ,is there anyone who have used both of PP and GC ? Pls tell ur experience for share . which one is better for online store ? Thx very much.
I used GC when they had that special and never charged for using their service. So not sure what their fee's are now, but they didnt have a 'return to page' option so when a user bought an ebook etc, they couldnt be taken to a page where the link was provided. I sent them a message, they only said they would try implement it in the future. I went back to paypal. The service is ok, never had a problem.
PayPal is more customizable, simple to integrate, more user friendly and has more exposure than Google Checkout. PayPal is the right choice for a online store.
In my opinion PayPal will remain the online payments king. It's established, popular and overly very good.
We've had Credit cards through our payment gateway, GCO and Paypal as side-by-side options for several years. Averaged over two years we're looking at 90% CC, 8% Paypal, and 2% GCO. When GCO was giving away a bunch of incentives, Paypal and it swapped, but Paypal's killing them now. If I had to chose between the two, I would go with Paypal. If you can, offer more than one way to pay. There are a lot of people that truly hate Paypal and will not use them at all.
I can't wait till that day comes... google checkout needs to hurry and accept all countries for their service
I also prefer to use Google check out facilitates but most of the customer does not have Google account then i little received their email. So i almost start pay pal facilitates for our customers
They are two different animals. Google Checkout is strictly a Merchant>Customer payment processor while PayPal is a more general e-wallet payment system. Google Checkout does conduct more rigorous credit card validation and does give the merchant better protection against chargebacks.
At this point Google Checkout isn't as easy to use/set up as Paypal especial if you are getting started with e-payments. Plus many customers do not recognize Google Checkout yet and are hesitant to use them. I would try them both because that is going to be the only way to find out which option is best. Just track how many customers use Paypal and how many use Google.
No it won't. Paypal is established, loads of people have it because of ebay. To get Google Checkout to be a contender, google would have to have something comparable - something that makes people have to have it. I've had both, and my experience has been similar to others - maybe 2% use Google Checkout.
