Alexa could be easily sorted anyway, just buy some cheap and useless traffic or set an auto refresh thingy maybe.

Sorry, I do not agree with you. Look, for example, if you have education website what you should do. Go to Alexa and put for search Education
You will be given number webs. Targeted search? Yes, indeed.
Than yoy want to know traff for those webs. Logicaly thinking that webmasters of those webs also tried to attract targeted customers.
So, compare ALEX index and pick 10-20 with the smallest one.
    Thank you have 2 options
    1. ask them for your submission ( You will expect about 50% targeted traffic
    2. check their backlinks and submit your site to them
Remember all sites belong to Education niche
Am I right? I think so

Directories? Problems? We ain't got no stinking problems. Well, not many anyway.

I feel the loss of PR was because of how some directories were marketing their product. And the most visible directories loosing PR have rebounded during the last PR update.

Take a look at a few of the pages in the directory. Do a Google search for the page title and see if it shows up in the top 30. If it does, you've got a site that "has a good reputation with Google". Most of these types of directories have some PR and a decent Alexa Rating (200k or below).

You can use this directory search to narrow the list of directories you want to check. You can search by PR, Alexa Rating, Price, Niche, and a few other criteria.
